I hope Oklahoma obliterates them but it is probably closer than I would like. Oklahoma by 7.

I remember him playing against us when I was at the game (I think 89?) and I remember thinking this Favre fella seems pretty good.

We need to see a LOT of progress this week. Honestly, I don't think our talent stacks up well with much of the SEC.
We need to see our QB react faster. We need to see the OL gel. Against Southern Miss, I need to see a TON of separation with our WR --- because SEC play is right around the corner.
On defense, I would like to see much less total yards, but as long as they continue to keep other teams to two scores or less, I am happy.
So in summary, I want to see the offense show some consistency and cohesion to give me some kind of hope for 7 wins.

Is Alabama favored by 2 scores? I would think they win by at least that amount.

What do you think are the best matchups this weekend?

When you say things like that, how do you walk it back when you continue to be in the SEC?
I love LSU, but some of the fans have lost the plot. The school does not dictate shite to the conference as a whole.
Just be glad this drama is over before the real games start and enjoy the season. But also, never forget..

If you are looking for Private Equity as a savior I don't know what to tell you.

I agree. If not LSU, it would have been another school. But Lane made himself and easy target and hiring back the basketball coach probably also put LSU in the cross hairs.
I am just looking forward to this settling down and getting to enjoy the season. LSU looks talented and well coached, I am really curious to see how they do on the field this year.

And that is reason 1678 for why you would never be in charge.

Its purpose is to answer the question of if the NCAA cannot enforce these rules, does the SEC and other conferences have the power to?
If we take the current LSU situation out of it, this still needs to be done. If a conference cannot regulate its members, the last vestige of college football is gone.
Sadly, I agree with you that most of it is already gone, but this is where we are.

I love LSU. I don't understand all this brinkmanship. Losing LSU would be awful for the SEC and LSU.
So manu of my favorite games were AU v LSU, where they hit so hard you could get a bruise just watching the game.
Someone needs to be the adult in the room and I don't see anyone filling that role right now.

It is killing my enjoyment. I used to appreciate growth during the season but why bother now? Half of those guys will probably be on another team next year.

The question they should be asking is would Lane go to the matress for them?
There is a large body of evidence that suggests he would not.

All of this is way out of control but LSU needs to acknowledge a few things.
The SEC can take the financial hit, as a whole, much better than any single university.
No matter what you think, any litigation over damages would take years.
LSU scheduling would be utterly fricked and they would not be in a position of strength to bargain with a new conference.
A few things the SEC should consider.
This would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
LSU is a founding member and there just does not seem to be enough for this much of a response.
If this is setting a precedent for the future, no one should ever cut of their nose to spite their face.

I would hate to see the SEC without LSU.
I could do without the Mizzou Tigers.
