Regardless of which teams are at the top, I can watch just about any college football game that has two decent, competitive teams playing; especially SEC teams.
I'll be watching pretty much all of the SEC games this weekend until one team begins to blow out another. I'll have multiple TVs going with the different games on. We are lucky to have it this year.
I love to watch college football and I hope that never changes.

The college game day experience IMO is way better than the NFLs.
So true. I wasted all of those years on that fraudulent league, but better late than never.

the story is not the lack of good players ..its the lack of elite head coaches who can recruit at the highest level ... If Urban Meyer returned to the SEC and landed at lets say Kentucky ,then Kentucky would be right there with BAMA within 3 seasons ,maybe less .If Dabo Swinney left Clamson and went to ,lets say ...., Kansas St ,then Kansas St would win the big 12 reguarly and compete for national titles ...

Maybe, but am I wrong?
The landscape changes, slowly, but it does change over time.

it's much like my industry, which is the music business...3% of the artists/bands make 97% of the money..
Where are you getting these numbers on the music industry? The current environment is not a good comparison with touring being curbed due to Covid.

Of course 2020 is an outlier for the music business...I would have thought that went without saying...

The playoff changed everything...none of those teams you mentioned, sane ND one year, have been a threat in years...

OP your post is true. Many people I know barely even follow college due to this. They'll watch the NFL as there is a lot more parity, an example: even at the Pats prime they were still beatable. Currently it is basically pointless to follow the sport if your team isn't one of the contenders or potential contenders every few years.
You know who could beat Bama / Clemson / Ohio State, another top named program. The chances of a lesser opponent upsetting them? Well, even if it happens they'll still win out and be in the playoff so...

Change your team icon to that fruity Alabama A and boom you're a winner. Right gumps?

College football is an awful product...
As an Ole Miss fan you are getting a better production than any of these teams that you mentioned. Product = production and the Ole Miss games have probably been better tv (or live) viewing than any other team's games. Winning a championship doesn't always mean a good product.

Clemson was a running joke just a few years ago. It can happen...ok not anywhere, but almost anywhere in the south at at a few places in the midwest. It's all cyclical.

It’s pretty bad. If a non power team becomes good the NCAA comes for you.

You are absolutely 100% correct. The push toward super conferences and a full playoff system is destroying college football. It’s great if your team happens to be on top but it leaves the others out.
I’ve always opposed this move and actually wish we were like it was back in the late 80’s. Pre BCS era.

OP is right. Individual games at every level, specially those not involving the teams that just crockpot everyone, can be fun, but the National race is very boring.
