South Carolina Loses Two Wide Receivers To Season-Ending Injuries

David Yeazell-USA TODAY Sports
South Carolina will be without two wide receivers for the entire 2026 season after Jayden Sellers and Jayden Gibson suffered season-ending lower-body injuries during practice last week.
Sellers, the younger brother of starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers, caught 22 passes for 337 yards and one touchdown as a freshman last season. Gibson transferred to South Carolina from Oklahoma, where he recorded 15 catches for 387 yards and five touchdowns during his career.
Both receivers were expected to provide depth for the Gamecocks this fall. South Carolina opens the 2026 season against Kent State on September 5.
