But none of those 3 teams has been as consistent every year so far this millennium as Oklahoma, Boise State, and Louisiana State have.
Ohio State has been a top 5 football team every year since 2000 LOL.
P.S. We don't count the Fickell year.

With scholarship limits. 3% of CFB teams do not get 98% of the talent. CFB is a far better product than the NFL. Anyway I simply disagree

College football is more fun for me, but the NFL is a better product (for both producer and consumer) by all measures.

It's really all so boring, so predictable, and so bad...it's much like my industry, which is the music business...3% of the artists/bands make 97% of the money...3% of college teams stockpile 97% of the talent...everybody else just slops around and barely makes a living...
Sounds a lot like capitalism.
This is a bullshite statement.
I guess you'd prefer socialism, so vote for AOC and/or move to Venezuela

I feel like most people understand that, but they watch anyway because of some emotional/sentimental connection to the team or school or state. College football fandom is just a different thing than watching a pro team, even one from your area. The fact that the odds are you'll never see your team win a title really doesn't bother most people. They just want the team to play well, make a decent bowl game and share in some fun experiences. The college game day experience IMO is way better than the NFLs.
Fwiw the real reason (at least to me) to not like the college game is the massive level of corruption. The bag men, the boosters giving the kids no show jobs, the tutors doing all the players academic work, the entire recruiting process, the fans who obsess over teenagers social media accounts, etc. Those are all way better reasons to feel disgust than the fact that the football itself is sub par and there's no parity.

Gonna be fun when you find out how the SEC distributes bowl money

You throw Clemson in there, but less than 10 years ago they were a middle of the pack small program in a mediocre conference. Just takes one hire to turn things around. Also, Saban has really kinda broken the system right now, but once he's gone, I expect things to spread out a little more.
The last time Clemson was a small program was before any of us were born. They are obviously at a level they have never seen before but they have been a quality program for a long time. They averaged about 3 ACC championships a decade in the past.

Awful? Someones not paying attention.
Hogville is all orgasmic over the idea they have a football pulse and is shaking their Barry Odom stick at any offense about to play their fabulous defensive walkons. Starkvegas has the Pirate, a little D, and a win in Baton Rouge. That should hold them for at least year 2 of the great experiment. Just northwest is the Lane Train. Where fans measure points more advantageous than wins. Kiffin has found the perfect fit, welcome home. TAMU just bested the Gators for the biggest win of the Jimbo era, so naturally, they are playoff-bound in College Station, and that 52 point beatdown by BAMA is for all practical purposes, null and void. And Bo Pelini still has a job after going down to the likes of Miss St and Mizzou. Who would have thunked it? Even so, one more win next week and Orgeron will be screaming at anyone who is still listening, Oh, nothing understandable, just screaming. Unfortunately, one more loss by the barners, and Gus is staring at that ole familiar exit sign again. My guess? There's gonna be a lot of purple and gold fans in Jordan Hare decked out in blue and orange Saturday.
What does it all mean: "Awful" never seems to translate to apathy in the SEC. And hope has never finished second to reality in the wild, wild, West. Now, on with the 2nd half of cannibalizing our own.

The 85 rule was supposed to spread the talent out over more teams. By the numbers, it has spread out the talent. Why the power is residing in three teams is a bit of a mystery. Better coaching is my conclusion.
Other programs have fallen and can't get back up - namely Texas, Sou Cal, Mich, Notre Dame, Nebraska and some others.

Clemson has only been great for like 5 years. Not like they are a perennial power or something

Clemson got their program dialed in just in time for the new playoff system...they're not going anywhere...

The 90’s were great. You had Nebraska, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Kansas State, Colorado, Washington, Virginia Tech, Texas, and so on playing great games. There were great teams all across the country and in all conferences. It really has gotten to be a boring product.
Even though my team sucked in the 90s, that decade was still my favorite in the SEC and as a whole

It has been the haves and the have nots. LSU only seems to go on a run every 5 years so. UGA has the talent to go on a run. OSU, Bama, and Clemson dominate. Can get stale. Texas, ND, USC, Tennessee seem dead.

Why be so clueless? 25/85 has nothing to do with it. The elite of the elite players are making business decisions and leaving geographical loyalties behind, unlike any previous generation of elites. They chose instead the shiniest lure in the tackle box.
The real question should be for dawgs fans, how is Kirby attracting these elites for years now and you are still unable to join the higher ups on the food chain?

Right, but if anything they are a counterexample to what you're saying; they crashed the party

Yeah maybe so...but even if you remove Clemson, it makes little difference to my original point...
