No, you can't. Especially since only 1 team gets a bye starting this year. And they play 16 games anyway. Do you really think a 3 or 4 loss college team will get a top seed? Just stop.

Yep, i'll take a shorter, more meaningful regular season and only two-three postseason games any day. The atmosphere for bigtime college regular season matchups can't be matched.

1 big problem is in the past the Bowls provided National Champ matches. Colorado played ND, FSU played Nebraska, Miami played PSU. Everything was sorted on New Years. Now its preordained who will have the opportunity to play for the NC. Number 5 can no longer beat number 1 and jump up to be NC like Clemson over Nebraska.

I just showed you how this is factually incorrect.

it isn't two regular season losses basically eliminate you from the playoff. Also you get graded by who you beat and how. In the NFL a W is a W aside from tiebrreaking purposes.

Which is highly subjective and mostly bullshite. See: LLSU being ranked at all this year.

They still depend on early season rankings. Ask any Auburn fan about how that worked out for them. Ask any other LLSU fan how Bama being ranked so high helped us not win our division and still win the title. Tell me how THAT made regular season games more meaningful.

Your argument makes no sense other than "this is the way I like it."

Auburn scheduled an FCS team in 2004, that's a huge part of what hurt their BCS numbers, same with Miami in 2000

Them starting the year ranked so low is what did them in, not the FCS opponent. There was no way for them to pass USC or Oklahoma without them losing a game. It was part of what let to the push for a playoff.

It’s a shame when LSU as preseason #6 is seen as a ‘crash the party’ type of team.

This exactly. I remember hearing talking heads scratching their heads LSU won it all. It was the 3rd NC and 4th final for LSU in 16 years and they were still being viewed as Cinderella. That’s how anticlimactic and boring the sport has become,

I mean, your provided some outliers, and examples of bias if anything.

Adding teams to a playoff gives damn near everyone a mulligan, and multiples teams will get two mulligans.

How do you figure 8 or even 12 teams gives "everyone" a mulligan? There are more teams than that in the SEC.

I think we found the bias.

The SEC is significantly more competitive now than, for example, the seventies.

From 1971-79, Alabama won the SEC every year except 1976. They only lost 3 SEC games in nine years. Only 4 wins...two over Tennessee and two over LSU...were by less than 10 points.

From 2011-2019, four different teams have won the SEC. Alabama has lost 8 conference games (AU, aTm, LSU, UM) and had 9 wins over six different teams (Ark, aTm, UGA, UT, MSU, and LSU) decided by less than 10 points.

And 1980 thru 2010?
