These are the 10 worst states to live in for 2026, according to CNBC.
1. Tennessee
2. Texas
3. Indiana
4. Louisiana
5. Georgia
6. Utah
7. Missouri
8. Alabama
9. Oklahoma
10.Arkansas
Crime rates, air quality, healthcare access, worker protections, and civil rights laws are among factors that can hurt a state in quality of life rankings.
CNBC
Heavy SEC representation on this list, but it might be the worst one I've ever seen. Tennessee and Texas are both outstanding places to live.

Based on Tennessee rapid growth of people moving here from supposed more desirable states, I would say the dildo author is full of shite man.

Hopeful this will slow/stop the Yankee invasion of the south.

Tennessee, Texas, Indiana, Georgia, and Utah are all great places to live.

Dings Utah for it's air quality, then posts a pic with this caption...

I mean given the geography/geology of the Wasatch front (where most of the states residents live, we can experience worse than average AQ in the winter due to cold pollution laden air settling in the valley's. But that's generally only 8-10 days a year on average.

What civil rights don't they have?

I would rather live in any of these states over California, Illinois, New York, Oregon, Connecticut, etc.

As someone that lives in the South, I hope it causes the northerners to stay their arse up there and stop moving here.

This list seems aimed at low earners needing government bennies,
Yes, the pregnant high school dropout living in a trailer in rural West Texas or backwoods Tennessee could probably drop into Oregon and find it a better deal.
Most middle class families and high earners have different needs, however, including no state income tax, a thriving economy and job market, and reasonable cost of living.
