quote:Yes it was. And we were one tip-in away from it being an amazing weekend. Can't get too greedy I guess!
Pretty good weekend for the Horns
quote:Appreciate the sentiment. But, between the $ being spent to retain rosters and Cignetti's formula, patience is a luxury few can afford.
And we wonder why the sec is losing their grip on college football. Patience is a thing of the past

Not gonna happen, but I'd gladly trade this plus a cupcake for wrapping up CFB around New Year's. The longer it goes, the worse kick times get trying to schedule around the NFL.
re: Besides your favorite team, are there any other SEC teams you have a soft spot for?

quote:Yep. Got a scholarship in the major I wanted. So that made the choice. The school and folks there were great. But, Texas is home.
So, you went to Auburn, but pull for Texas?

Congrats to all these teams for handling business

quote:Which is sad because SEC baseball has become a more compelling product than SEC football. I realize that's blasphemy to most though.
I love baseball and some of my favorite memories are going to State baseball games with my dad as a kid and sitting in right field at Ole Miss in college. But it isn’t the money maker the other two sports are. And investing heavily into that sport instead of football or basketball as an AD or booster is irresponsible

Always happy taking a SEC road series, especially against a team the likes of Auburn. But, until the back end of the pen settles down not sure about being #2.
quote:This is the bigger deal to me. It's not so much that the kids are now employees instead of students at the school, it's that they don't care much about its legacy, rivalries or fans that's the turn off.
We had a center from Oklahoma... who snapped to a QB from Oklahoma... who handed off to a tailback from Oklahoma... or threw to wide receivers from Oklahoma. Most of the team was from Oklahoma. I remember playing Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. Most of their guys were from Tennessee.

Auburn "stole" him from State the same way TAMU "stole" Bjork from Ole Miss.

quote:Crazy talk. If you're going to hire a first time HC at an SEC school, you have to give him a couple years to get his footing.
instead of staring down the barrel of firing your coach and paying his buyout in a year.

So glad he's gone.

I was excited about the hire when it happened but this year there hasn’t been much to be excited about.

Texas really controlled that whole second half.

Brown's a great pickup. Definitely an upgrade over your last two QB's.
quote:I tuned out after the 1st Q since it was clear how the game was gonna go. But, the few times I did check in, it didn’t look like New England gave him any help. If that’s the case, then the last three quarters of his abysmal play are on the coaches as much as him.
He had probably an all time terrible individual performance in a SB.
