Do not let Tech fans claim they are doing no wrong. They are poison. They bring lies and deceit and dirty money to swindle their way into builiding a conference contender by allowing an overpaid mediocre QB to keep some eligibility before they ultimately lose in round one..
In reality they were the loser in middle school that got pantsed and stuffed into lockers by their big and bad bullies and now they just want revenge.

Couldn't the NCAA simply say "OK, he's free to play, but any game he plays in will be a forefit by Tech? Then we could see if Texas Tech is really all about "the young man;'s recovery" as they say.

Reports are that he only bet on Indiana games when he was redshirted there. Never bet on a game he played in. He bet on lots of other stuff but not his games. We will see if this is true. Again, lots of postings with no facts.
Its a crime to do what you just said he did. He had insider information. And TT still coddled him and are really going to suffer from this long term. Even if you cut ties today the damage is done. Your school supported a known gambler which is the cardinal sin of sports.

Let's not forget Texas and OU flirting with Larry Scott and the Pac10 (and attempting to bring/force A&M and OSU along for the ride). That was very, very close to reality - and ultimately what set the first wave of big12 defections (Colorado, Nebraska, A&M, Mizzou) in motion.
