Welcome to Bruce Pearl. 1 or 2 NBA starters on all his teams going back to UWM and nothing to show for it. He's great at promoting, taking his shirt off in the student section at the Iron Bowl, great against a mediocre schedule but buckles when the chips are on the table.

Nothing to show for it, just two regular season conference championships, one conference tournament championship, a Final 4 appearance and a 6-3 NCAAT record at a perennial doormat.

Just shows that 1 or 2 good players can't win everything.

We'll never know because Bruce didn't try to get them the ball.

I don’t understand how Auburn could not find a way to break their tendency’s one it was apparent (Mizzouz game) how to play them by being physical on the guards and packing it in. They had an entire week off after AM loss to self scout and break tendency’s. Shitty coaching job IMHO.

To have a top 3 NBA pick along with one of the best post players in the country and lose first game of the SEC tourney and then 1st weekend of the big dance..woof. Way too much talent for this to have happened.

As much as I hate to admit it, you are correct.

Auburn could have made the Elite 8 by just beating three double digit seeds in a row. It was there on a platter... easiest path you're ever going to see. Blowing that opportunity is going to hurt beyond just getting bounced early.

guards were average at best and not a shooter among them.

Thank you all for your interest in our program. We were picked 5th in the conference preseason, exceeded expectations. Won the SEC, RAnked #1 for part of the season.

Kessler is possible a first round pick, so Bruce develops players. Jabari will be one of the three top players picked.

Would have Made the Tournament 4 of 5 years (would have made it in 2020 Covid). 2020 team was peaking at the end of the year.

Three championship in 4/5 years (not counting the Covid year). Tops in the SEC.

More SEC wins than any other school last 5 years.

I think we are OK. as to the lifetime contract, if any coach deserved it, it would be Bruce. What he has accomplished at Auburn is beyond anyones wildest expectations.

Jabari Smith is looking like a busts imo.

He needs to decide what he’s going to do in the pros, whether it be driving or shooting and get elite at it.

Right now he’s good at both, but not great at either. He’s going to be an average pro if he doesn’t get one to elite status sooner than later.

Crappy guard play. Doom you in the NCAAT every time.

Yep. Anyone paying attention the last month of the season should have seen this coming.

They ran out of gas towards the end of the season. I mean nothing at all left in the tank. From number 1 in the country to going 5-4 in your last 9 games has to sting.

Yes, they had a great regular season but Pearl wasn't able to get them ready to play, for whatever reason, in the post season. I thought they were a Final Four team, not a Round of 32 blowout victim. This is going to be one of those "What If" seasons for Auburn fans because this team should have done much better.

He doesn't look like a bust. But he doesn't look anything like the first pick either.

It's hard to judge these days bc teams are drafting on potential and not the finished product.

I think he's got more potential than Oscar T at UK, but like another poster said, he doesn't appear great at any particular skill yet.

Smith will be a solid NBA player. The areas where he lacks can be corrected by NBA coaching, and he has the length and shooting NBA scouts love.

In retrospect I don’t understand why they didn’t hang on to Desi Sills. That back court was complete arse.

Well did you watch Jabari and Kessler last night? They were terrible. Love those guys and they gave us a great season but we didn’t lose because of coaching or even our guard play. We lost because our two best players played like utter garbage. This is why they say teams whose strength is guard play succeed in the NCAA tournament
