Auburn LB DJ Barber arrested

Drug trafficking per The Corner

See ya

Or it's just what they are using as an excuse.
Pretty obvious they aren’t talking money with recruits. CD Morgan said as much during his exit interview last visit.

been 4 players that went to AU since the 90', 3 fizzled out, 1 currently a rotation receiver his freshman year...
3 fizzled out?

Eltoro Freeman was a starter on the 2010 NC team, Eric Brock started for Auburn over a few years and obviously Malcolm Simmons played a lot as a true freshman.

I don’t know who the 4th player is that you referenced.

No NFL talent there but good/solid college production.
I know.

T.O wasn't heavily recruited out of HS.
I might have to start that later today. Would be good discussion.

He’s from Alex City. Can’t remember Bama ever pulling a kid from there. It’s literally 39 miles from Auburn.
It’s not a school rich with talent, typically. It’s definitely not a pipeline school in favor of Auburn despite being so close.

I can remember Auburn landing Malcolm Simmons, Eltoro Freeman and Erik Brock from there and that dates back roughly 20 years or more.

It’s still a shame Terrell Owens got overlooked.

In fact, is CD Morgan the only 5* to ever come out of BR? I’m 99% sure that’s true.
Auburn isn’t being outbid, when they aren’t even bidding. They’ve shown they can pay when it comes to recruits. They’re done it in back to back classes.

And they’ve done it against Ohio State, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, LSU, Texas, etc

Like I said, it’s obvious they have changed what they’re doing based on what they’re being told by lawyers, etc. Will it workout? I think we will know in August. Even if they’re wrong on their current understanding of the new rev share, they’ll have time to crank up the money talks with recruits like everyone else has been doing.
quote:

"You want to make sure you are operating with what the House settlement says. We're going by what we believe is the accurate interpretation of it. It's not really to our advantage right now..."
I get it, they’re trying to do what they “understand” is right…but nobody else is doing this.

And it’s completely obvious they’re low balling recruits right now. Auburn isn’t even getting a hat on the table with a lot of guys that have spent some serious time in Auburn on visits, etc. Their current recruits are flipping.

And if that isn’t proof enough, you should listen to CD Morgan’s interview with the On3 Auburn site. He literally told them, during the interview, that Auburn “couldn’t give him a number until closer to December” in regards to NIL and revenue share.

Auburn is essentially recruiting without money talks with these guys and nobody in today’s college landscape is landing a big time recruit without talking dollar bills.

he will commit to Alabama July 2nd.
Great get by Alabama.

Not a hard prediction, even in May.
Good. Hope he starts for Ole Miss, he fricking sucks.
I just checked… I actually do still have his name and number. I don’t want to break rules here so I won’t mention either. Hope my guy is doing okay.
I’m not sure. But I do remember him eating toothpaste and taking shots of listerine, among other things. Pio is a hilarious dude and actually pretty genuine.

I just don’t post as much anymore. Hard to find the time.

No he’s not.
Cam Newton, wait…I meant Brent Shaeffer.

OGs will get the reference.

It is, but they won the ‘ship before the merger, too.

3 peat, with a possibility of a 4th soon.
Also noteworthy… Darren McFadden’s statline vs Auburn in 2007? 17 carries for 43 yards.

That defense was nasty.
