Bowden's run was epic

It was also longer. Bowden's achievements were just not as highly accomplished as Sabans.

And almost only won 3. The game last night could have easily went the other way, The UGA SEC Championship could have easily been lost and you would have been out.

Not to mention in 2009, you had to make a last second come back in Auburn to even make it to the SEC Championship.

This is why "Almosts" dont mean anything. It always goes both ways

It’s the greatest college football dynasty period. And ranks high with greatest runs in any sport ever.

As much as I hate to admit it, I totally agree with this. And I grew up during most of Bear's run.

Gotta give credit where due.

And amazingly enough, 2010 was their most stacked roster and lost three games.

2010 talent was insane. Will never understand them losing three games although they were all losses to quality teams.

I don’t think Bama would’ve beaten FSU in 2013. We’ll never know but just my opinion.

"You" are also a play or two or mulligan game away from only having 1 or 2 titles.

Completely agree. That team had four first round draft picks. If this was Sabans best coaching job 3010 was his worst.

2010 Alabama I think suffered from overinflated ego as well as a strong sense of entitlement. There was more than one star player on that team, including some of its vocalist leaders, that believed all they had to do was show up and they'd win the game. After that Florida win they thought they were invincible. The chickens came home to roost the very next week.

With all the talent and experience on that team, they should have easily contended for the national championship in 2010. But they lacked the same drive that the '08 and '09 teams had in abundance.

Here's why Alabama is greatness--because being at the top everyone wants to take a shot at you and take you down. Every single game. Its very very hard to climb to the top and then stay there....for a long period....riding the ebb and flows of college football which takes the best of players/coaches/universities and eats them up and spits them out. Nick Saban is the greatest college football coach in history. We will never see a dynasty like this again in a long long time. Take it in folks because what your watching is greatness whether you like it or not. It must be respected.

I think saying "almost won" is poor wording.

A better wording might be 'almost competed for.'

OH St has a modern bogus NC claim(1970) while Bama hasn't claimed anything non-AP/UPI since before WW2.
