There’s no way to perfect a craft that you get to practice just 12 or 13 times per year. Imagine if your team could only have virtual practice via video meetings and just study film and discuss strategy, except on Saturdays, 12-13 times per year.
Baseball makes money at only a handful of schools. Who’s going to pay those guys as full-time officials.?
And anybody with a good day job is not going to want to get into something full-time that can get him fired and force him to start his old day Job from scratch if they will even rehire him.
