re: What Todd McShay said about Jalen Milroe at Senior Bowl: ‘It’s concerning’

Despite my gator tag name we are huge Bama fans first and foremost and I just cannot understand how he can be so bad? How hard is it to complete some passes, run a few yards after all these years of practice time, etc? I came to the conclusion that i don't think he was really working hard in practice or intentional about it because the only way you can be this bad is actually not practice the art of football itself. Maybe the concern over money and prestige got in the way of actual football skills. :banghead:

Thank you for your post bamaoldtimer.....yes I'm a gator fan but I loooovee Alabama. My first swim NCAA's were in Tuscaloosa and I just loved the place so I've been a fan ever since. I have to say my 12 year old son is a huge Bama fan and cried himself to sleep last night and was still sick over the game that I allowed him to stay home from school today. He was that upset. What an excellent program you guys have and get to cheer for....although the loss hurts Bama will be back. And btw....I think that game could have swung either way had some different things happened earlier on. Everyone in my family all said the game was just weird and not per usual Bama fashion. I'd also like to say that does anyone think that the semi final games where Clemson cruised to a win easily while Bama had to play really tough to win (even though the score didn't show it) have anything to do with Bama being a bit more tired than Clemson? Just my 2 cents....

Here's why Alabama is greatness--because being at the top everyone wants to take a shot at you and take you down. Every single game. Its very very hard to climb to the top and then stay there....for a long period....riding the ebb and flows of college football which takes the best of players/coaches/universities and eats them up and spits them out. Nick Saban is the greatest college football coach in history. We will never see a dynasty like this again in a long long time. Take it in folks because what your watching is greatness whether you like it or not. It must be respected.

I think you were asking me LSUwag about why other programs at Florida do well? I think its because of Jeremy Foley, who had a tremendous passion for the Olympic Sports. I believe he hired most if not all of his olympic sports coaches and would show up to all athletic sporting events. Jeremy started in the ticketing office wayyyy back in the day and worked his way up the food chain. He knew Florida athletics backwards and forwards. I also think that the SEC is a fantastic conference with all schools being tremendous with tremendous programs.

From what I know about Urban stepping down...it isn't what people think. This from knowing a few inside the department at the time. It wasn't because of the stress of Florida football ....I'll leave it at that.

My response is this....some coaches do well as an assistant and fit well into a particular program. Sometimes, especially in college fb, a great assistant does not always make a great head coach and also might not be a great fit for that particular university. Happens all the time in both football and all Olympics sports across the board. Coach Mac was not a good fit. Trust me. Florida's athletic teams in all other sports are very successful with tremendous student-athletes that love being Gators. Its going to be a rebuilding process on the football side of things but I really think that Mac was just a mediocre coach--not bad and not great. That just doesn't work at Florida nor many other SEC schools. I pull for all the SEC schools to be great btw....

Exactly. The death threats was just another excuse for the poor coaching happening. Great teams are developed from the top down just like every other successful business/sports team/etc. I lost faith when every week there were excuses...he and his coaching staff were not prepared, not disciplined, etc etc. He totally made me cringe when he spoke and I began to not believe a word he had to say. Just makes me furious with how much money these coaches make to be leaders and to do a solid good job coaching. Good riddance....

Gator here, y’all kicked our arses. I think the rivalry is fantastic and I love it when both teams are strong—makes both teams better. Mac, in my opinion is completely full of himself and wayyyy over his head. Just mediocre and undisciplined, not prepared...yada yada yada. I love it when Georgia is strong...should make all of SEC better. Congrats!
