So what do we have here? In every matchup of these teams, LSU has had the better record, better season, and better team. Only 1 of the matchups you could argue UGA might maybe should be favored or the programs were equal or slightly better. 1 of the matchups LSu had an edge even if not a major one but were still the predominant favorites. And in 2 of hte matchups it was a night and day staggering difference between the 2 programs in favor of LSU.

What is the point? I say all that to say...that in this matchup the better team wins. In 2022, there is zero doubt who the better team and program is. Or who has a better roster. Or a better coaching staff. Better offense and better defense. So let the LSU fans spew what they will, while the rest of us already know what's going to happen.

LSU fans aren't saying they are going to go to Atlanta and whip UGA. I think most are just excited that the team is doing this well this season and hope we don't frick it up down the stretch.

But to entertain your narrative I would bring up 2018 LSU/UGA as well. Undefeated 2nd rank UGA got whipped like a scalded dawg 36-16. Sure it was at Tiger Stadium, but LSU had just come off a disappointing loss at Florida and had a sputtering offense. They weren't given much of a chance in that game and Atlanta is not Athens. LSU will travel well if they make it to the SECCG.

UGA is much better than LSU and should win handily.

I do think Kelly will have them playing hard and we will be competitive but UGA will win.

If it happens at all

As an LSU fan, I’d be thrilled to make the SEC Championship (I’m not counting chickens before they are hatched), but I would absolutely expect to lose to UGA, likely by double digits.

But I had such low expectations for this season that the above scenario would absolutely be a win in my mind.

They think they are the new Bama yet it took Kirby’s UGA five tries to do what BK’s LSU did in one, actually beat them. They know it, and it’s unsettling to them.

Well this is just insecure.

It was a huge win for 2005 LSU to even get to Atlanta, given what we went through that hurricane season.

If we get to Atlanta this year, that will also be a huge win.

Regardless of how the game goes, it has no bearing on which program is better or has a better coaching staff.

Frankly, y'all need the win more than we do. LSU has played Georgia 10 times this century. 4 times a title was directly on the line. LSU won 3 of those.

I'm more impressed that LSU has been able to wipe the Georgia Bulldogs on the turf in both stadiums most of the times given that the game is essentially a de facto "home game" for Georgia. Before every SECCG game, Georgia clinched the weaker SEC East before LSU and their fans had a head start in buying tickets for the SECCG.

With that being said, if/when LSU makes it to the SECCG, I expect Georgia to win, but it won't be as big of a margin that their fans think it will be. Anything can happen during the game and if LSU were to have a miraculous rematch with Tennessee, I could see LSU winning the rematch. If anyone is going to beat LSU, this is the year because I see consistency in LSU returning to its winning ways in its dominant fashion.

I don’t think LSU truly knows what LSU has this season yet, being a rebuilding year and all, but we know things are trending wildly upward, monster talent emerging, players gelling, trusting the system, etc.

UGA getting that monkey off it’s back last season was nice to see, and looking great this season.

We’ll see.

By pretty much any objective measure LSU was the better team

In the lead up to that game Georgia fans spent a lot of time insisting this wasn’t the case

Man, you did a lot of research and typed a lot of words to say what just about every Tiger fan is thinking and that is that GA SHOULD WIN the game.

We have nothing to lose. We were supposed to finish middle of the pack and be rebuilding, which we are.

All the pressure will be on GA to do what they are supposed to do.

Sure would be embarrassing to lose when both fanbases think that GA is the better team.

What Kelly has done at LSU is impressive but do you really want to compare his resume to Kirby's? Kirby has a national title. Kelly doesn't. Kirby is 2-0 against Kelly head-to-head.
You might want to pump the brakes a bit.

I'd tell you in addition to going 3-1, we are also 18-13-1 against UGA.

And the rest of the history is here:

Refs
injuries
didn't need to win
bad breaks
We'll think of something.
