I'd tell you in addition to going 3-1, we are also 18-13-1 against UGA.

And the rest of the history is here:

I am a big believer that you use the latest game (which LSU won) or you use the entire history. (Which LSU also controls)

That said, I would also point out that LSU's lead was forged from 1928-1945 when LSU won the first 7 games of the series. Take those out of the equation (Here is where i would argue that why take any games that were played out....but...hey, I can do what I want to, since it's my argument )
and the series record would be 13-11-1 in favor of Georgia.

Past doesn't determine the future in this series. It should be a great SECCG, if we both make it.

You do realize that also applies to UF/UGA, right?

Well, we built a huge lead...but Florida didn't come into their own until the 1990's. that's hardly the 1928-1945 era.

I honestly don't know, and I am focused on Tennessee right now...but if you start at 1990, who would have the better record?
Out of curiosity do you want to look it up? (Just guessing I would say Florida, because you guys owned football in the 1990s and then took control of our series for 20 or so years.

All that said...I would come back and say "Use the most recent game or entire history!"

ETA
Curiosity got the better of me, so I checked. Starting in 1990 Florida would hold a commanding lead. Haven't even thought about going back to 1945. BUT...that is why I traditionally say use only the most recent or use the entire history. Anybody can pick and choose a time period to make their own team look better.

Looks like you squeaked in there.

Another interesting way to look at things....

IF Georgia beats LSU in the SECCG, does LSU get a NY6 game with 3 losses?

You've got Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama fighting for the bigger bowl games.

True. Throw a bigger wrench in it. (I said this in another thread)

Ole Miss beats Alabama and wins out
UGA wins out then gets beat by LSU in SECCG
LSU wins out
Tennessee wins out

Who goes to playoffs, and who gets NY6 game?

Georgia 12-1
Tennessee 11-1
Ole Miss 11-1
LSU 11-2 SEC Champs

What Kelly has done at LSU is impressive but do you really want to compare his resume to Kirby's? Kirby has a national title. Kelly doesn't. Kirby is 2-0 against Kelly head-to-head.
You might want to pump the brakes a bit.

Kelly has 2 national titles.

Unfortunately, probably not.

Which is bullshite. Loser of the SEC championship should get the best bowl bid.

What’s does that have to do with LSU-UGA in Atlanta

The same thing that 2003, 05, 11, and 19 have to do with it….but y’all draw that like a gun every time you’re feeling insecure.

Kelly didn’t have a program that could recruit the players needed to win it all.

He does now. The last two goofballs won national titles and could barely get out of their own way. How did you think it will go with a real head coach at the helm?

Kelly is building a monster.

I get it yall will be a huge favorite basically at home. But we will still show up and give it our best no matter how undermanned and outcoached we are...and as fans we will talk smack. I just want to win the next 3 and then start talking smack

2019: LSU win
-LSu entered undefeated and ranked #1
-UGA entered with 1 loss and ranked 4th
-LSU would end up one of the 3 or 4 best teams ever fielded in CFB on the way to being national champs. UGA had james coley calling plays, and any prayer of staying competitive went out the window due to george pickens and deandre swift being out or injured.

Also there was so much talk about how LSU hadn’t played against the mighty UGA defense that year

Well, then LSU is in good shape if they move to Division II.

Yeah, because Notre Dame doesn't get any national attention that it doesn't deserve.

UF leads 40-37-1 excluding up through 1945 like you just used with LSU/UGA.

Jimbo Fisher, Les Miles, and Ed Orgeron have natties too. You can be a bad coach with one and a great coach without one. Kirby is a good coach, no doubt. He is not the second coming. Ed Orgeron beat his arse twice.
