A look at LSU/UGA in the SECCG

Over the coming weeks we will see it posted a thousand times of LSU's record against UGA in the SECCG, but I'd like to dig a little deeper and actually look at those matchups.
2003: LSU win
-LSU had 1 loss and was ranked 3rd entering the game
-UGA had 2 losses and was ranked 5th entering the game
-LSU had already beaten UGA earlier in the year
-By pretty much any objective measure LSU was the better team, not only before hand but woululd go on to win national title
2005: UGA win
-LSU had 1 loss and was ranked 3rd entering the game
-UGA had 2 losses and was ranked 13th entering the game
-By all accounts LSu was the better team, although they were playing this game without a bye week. Was that enough to erase the apparent gap in teams?
-UGA started red hot and would go on to win comfortably
2011: LSU win
-LSU entered undefeated and ranked #1
-UGA entered with 2 losses and ranked 12th
-If not for that fateful January day, this would be considered one of the best teams of all time. It would undoubtedly be unanimously LSU's best football team ever up to that point in time.
-UGA started 0-2 before beating a bunch of nobodies to win the east. It was a miracle the game was as close as it was for 2 quarters before LSU pulled away en route to a title game appearance. UGA would lose 4 games this year
2019: LSU win
-LSu entered undefeated and ranked #1
-UGA entered with 1 loss and ranked 4th
-LSU would end up one of the 3 or 4 best teams ever fielded in CFB on the way to being national champs. UGA had james coley calling plays, and any prayer of staying competitive went out the window due to george pickens and deandre swift being out or injured.
So what do we have here? In every matchup of these teams, LSU has had the better record, better season, and better team. Only 1 of the matchups you could argue UGA might maybe should be favored or the programs were equal or slightly better. 1 of the matchups LSu had an edge even if not a major one but were still the predominant favorites. And in 2 of hte matchups it was a night and day staggering difference between the 2 programs in favor of LSU.
What is the point? I say all that to say...that in this matchup the better team wins. In 2022, there is zero doubt who the better team and program is. Or who has a better roster. Or a better coaching staff. Better offense and better defense. So let the LSU fans spew what they will, while the rest of us already know what's going to happen.

I don't personally know any LSU fans who think LSU will beat Georgia, even if the Tigers get there.

TL:DR
But I disagree. LSU owns UGA.

Just a friendly reminder. The better team does not always win.

This insecure Dawg built a strawman then posted a rebuttal to his own strawman.

Happy for UGA fans to finally get to play a down LSU team. It has been tortuous for them not being able to whip up on LSU when in their heart of hearts they know they are better. Like I told many people after week one, consider the long game my friend. LSU is building a monster, and it’s a pursuit at all levels. Coaching, administration, boosters, state government, and fanbase. The next couple years you will see LSU grow into what UGA has become (much respect) and those advantages you listed will vanish. We will have quite the rivalry on our hands.

Where are you seeing this?

So what would be the excuse if LSU managed to beat Georgia?

Like in 2003 where UGA fans (and many of the experts) predicted that UGA would take care of business in Atlanta? UGA fans were sure they were the better team and said LSU got lucky the first time around with UGA's kicking woes. Then LSU dismantled UGA.

It couldn't be more obvious.

You wasted a lot of time and words on this shitty troll:
Most LSU fans I know figure that if we make it to ATL against UGA, we'll lose by 10+. UGA is easily the better team. But im not insecure, so im able to admit that.
So are you saying that UGA fans and everybody else thing that LSU will win??

A trip to Atlanta in Kelly's first year would be great, but I don't think we will have anything for Georgia

LSU love to live in the past and flaunt Ed O's accomplishments, except for 2020 and 2021. Those seasons didn't happen, apparently. The Tennessee and FSU losses also didn't happen.

UGA has always had an unfounded superiority complex against LSU. They’re cashing in currently not accounting for the fact LSU is where they were in 2016 and will soon be where they are.
The ironic part is these programs are essentially mirror images of each other with only cultural differences outside the lines.

Today is exactly a month since Tennessee ran over LSU 40-13. I don't know any words that even describe how much LSU has improved in that month.
So I think the big question at play, with another month before the SECCG, how much more could LSU improve?

Also what does any of that have to do with LSU/UGA in ATL this year?

frick I’m not even gonna bother reading that right now it doesn’t matter what Georgia’s record was against LSU in the past. this is a new year and rational posters will tell you Georgia should beat LSU…. Sounds like you are trying to play the disrespect card lol
