Bama would get alot of strips, fumbles, and NOTS. Rueben would knock out their QB and running backs too.

That 95 team ran a train on everybody they played. I would put them over any team in any era sans the 01 Hurricanes.

It's unfair to compare the two because Nebraska was the most roided up, PED abusing college football team of all-time. It's like women's track and field where all of the records were set by Eastern European women from the '80s. Yes, today's female sprinters and long distance runners aren't as good as those female track and field athletes from the '80s but it's not really a fair comparison.

'95 Nebraska and it's not even close.

.....true.

Most people on this board aren't old enough to have watched the '95 Huskers...so their assessment is based on youtube and watching Bama this year.
This year's Bama team is superb, but the Huskers were better. Tommy Frazier was scary good running their offense.

This Bama team is average. Defense is great. Offense is terrible.

95 Nebraska. No one could stop that offense, their lowest score that season was 35 points. Insane.

No, it's not.

Bama's mystique this year (like every dominant team of any season) is due in large part to relentless media pumping through a 15 week season. You hear and read it almost every day. I still remember the media being even more effusive about 2005 USC, right up until Vince Young ran 4th and 5 in for the MNC-winning TD.

Comparing that to YouTube highlights and saying Bama is far better is like using an iPhone to say Steve Jobs was more innovative than Tom Edison.

It would be a good game, I think. But as someone else already said , I think the line play would put Bama over the top. With time to prepare (as in playing for the title) I think Bama , LSU (healthy LSU) , and possibly UF (healthy UF) would ,defensively, stop their offense.

you are always such a little bitch. The offense is not perfect, but it's far from horrible. We are scoring 40 points per game for christ's sake.

Though I'm not gonna vouch for either, I will say Nebraska was accused of steroid use multiple times but was subsequently never caught. You simply can't compare the 2 man.

I would say the most you could go back is 10 years to compare the "greatest" teams. In that regard, I wouldn't say the 2008 Gators and 2016 Bama are too close to call.

You can compare numbers and what not. But saying this team vs. this team from a completely different era isn't stupid.

People just don't get the size advantage Bama would have. It's ridiculous. If the two teams met on the field, Bama would crush Nebraska. Period.

Anyone saying 95 Nebraska would get destroyed by anyone is being ridiculous. Now, they could possibly lose, but that team had super talent and ran that offense to perfection.

Saban has never liked going up against the triple option and has said as much because it's so hard to simulate if you don't run it. Even with time to prepare, it's hard to plan for when a team is that talented and runs it that well.

The 2011 Bama D was the best one I've seen and the only team that ran on them was Georgia Southern. They averaged 7.7 ypc (unthinkable). Saban said they just couldn't stop them. Nebraska had about 10x the talent Georgia Southern had though. Saban with a month to prepare has proven that he is a master, but that style of offense is difficult to prepare for even with time because it's so different and so few teams run it now. The 95 and 96 Nebraska teams gave Saban the worst losses of his career (he was at Michigan State back then).

95 Nebraska would kick the shite out of 2016 Alabama. And let's not forget that the 95 black-shirts were part of 95 Nebraska so Bama's offense wouldn't be going anywhere.

One of these two teams is the greatest college football team of all time. The other is far from it.
