Bama didn't even stop a bad team running it a few years ago. Why did Bama struggle with it.

Well there are a lot of reasons for that, but I agree with you that the TO is an annoying outlier in the schedule. So was HUNH, but people adapted. Now its all over the league and not the magic bullet it once was.

Bama just isn't going to spend a lot of time scheming against GSU. the physical talent alone propelled bama to a win, which is pretty much the route I would take as well.

It's only 20 years ago. It's not that big of a difference. We're not talking about the 50's. People talk about '01 Miami and this is just a few years earlier.

Nebraska had one player on their roster that weighed over 300 pounds. In a bowl setting with a month to prepare, they wouldn't score a single point.

Look at zone blocking lines in the NFL. These are smaller and more athletic lineman for a reason.

If you really believe Nebraska couldn't score on teams...

The point of my OP was not necessarily who would win in a matchup. The phrasing was ambiguous enough to get there, though.

The point was more along the lines of who was more dominant in their season, and I still go with Nebraska. Kind of like comparing the 70's Steelers and the 00's Patriots. Pats would kill them, but the Steelers are still the greatest collection of comparative talent I think the NFL has ever seen. (And that sucks to say as a Cowboys fan.)

Not that it is definitive, but I ran a quick pivot table on the rosters of 1995 Nebraska and 2016 Bama. Here is what you get.

95 and it's not even close, this thread should be deleted. Miami 2001 says to SMD too.

I love the "Bama and it's not close" comments. I have all the respect in the world for Alabama, but that Nebraska team was bad arse.

I think it's clear that punters are the big difference maker here.

Dang, Bama. Your punters are beasts.

Gimme Bama. Their defense is faster and more physical than anything the '95 Huskers saw, IMO.

Nebraska would have beaten Chattanooga 79-0, not 31-3. And they would have beaten their main rival by a much worse score than 30-12. But go ahead and keep thinking that Bama is better than teletransportation, idiot.

Wait, why are you calling me names? I think we agree that Nebraska would win.

Or is this just a "Likes-to-fight-guy" thing?

Nah, sorry dude. It's been a long weekend putting Christmas decorations up. I've been guilty of starting these facetious threads myself. More like sarcastic, "would Bama beat the Ancient Romans in the coliseum with their own lions?" Bama hasn't even won the CFP yet. Their ratings outside of Alabama are abysmal because their games are relatively uninteresting, their fans claim they don't give a frick about that, but they care. Believe me, they care. Most of America just wants them to disappear and maybe they will in a couple or five years. Let Heather Dinich ride Bama dick out into the sunset.

No worries.

I agree they still have to close the deal. I commented earlier that the last time I heard this "unbeatable" stuff was just before ran in that 4th and 5 in the 2006 Rose Bowl.

As for the ancient Romans thing, I always refer back to the SNL skit: "Is Ditka driving the bus?"

Yeah what will the recruits think if we don't get good ratings.

You care so little that you spent time commenting on it.
