I guess you are saying 95 Nebraska has less hype in 2016 than they did in 95? If so, then excellent point...

I LOL'd. Many lines of flaming my lack of intelligence before you get to the point I was actually trying to make.

Hearing how dominant Bama is for 15 weeks (from massively more ubiquitous media) just can't compare to watching "sterile" highlights from 20 years go.

Could Bama's offense score on Nebraska with a true freshman QB?

Yes. It's a different and better era of cfb. Players are bigger faster stronger. Bama would possibly score enough on defense that it wouldn't matter.

I guess I don't understand the purpose of your completely obvious statements. Things that happened 23 years ago are less relevant in our minds than things that happened one week ago. That has zero impact on one's ability to evaluate teams on you tube or a TV. that was my point from the beginning.

Anyhoo.

No they aren't.

You shits need to learn to play offense over there. The forward pass is a thing whether you like it or not. Bama has a great RUN DEFENSE, as usual. They get shredded by good QBs as bad as anybody else does. And let's not pretend that they face triple option attacks and would be just super awesome and stifle it because they wouldn't. That Dline would get mowed down by cut blocks every snap and they aren't used to that, much less having to contain Ahman Green and Tommie Frazier and Wistrom. There's some dumb young people posting on this thread that have no idea what the hell they're talking about.

Holy shite first you have no idea how old i am. I never said Nebraska would lose. Just that they never faced a D with the physical tools and speed of this years bama d. God damn stop being so butthurt because someone disagrees with you. Which i never really did. I said it would prob end in a tie or close game either way for fricks sake
ETA: Nobody is "mowing" down that dline. Cut blocks or not. Thats just fricking dumb

Maybe less impact on your giant brain, but the election has forever lowered my expectations of the average American's ability to think first and emote second.

Ahman Green wasn't the best back on that team. Phillips was by far that year.

Yeah, Florida definitely didn't have a piss poor defense. I think they were giving up 16 ppg going into the NC and that was with already having faced the teams that would finish ranked #3 and #4 in the nation.

As for this year's Bama D, they are very comparable to 2011. They may even be better considering all the defensive scores. However, the 2011 D ended up allowing just over 8 ppg and 180 ypg. That's incredible.

The opponents they faced may have been slow but Phillips and Frazier were 4.4 guyss. And size? You forget the gist of Huskers OL was zone blocking where it's not about size and pushing off the line. It's about chipping and getting to the next level. Nebraska had a little of both.

Calm down, little lady. I just thought it was an interesting fact. And I'm not one of the ones saying either team would destroy the other or anything like that. By the way, this is a message board. It's where a person comes for dumb conversation and to pass time.

You're delusional. Cut blocking is VERY effective and it doesn't matter how good Bama's front is. They don't face that outside of Georgia Southern a few years ago and look how that turned out. As soon as the ball is snapped, their front would get their legs cut out from under them. The triple option is VERY DIFFICULT to scheme against and no, Saban wouldn't fare any better against that cut blocking scheme. It's not like I'd know what I'm talking about having faced Nebraska every season for decades or anything.

Bama has the talent to beat Nebraska but the amount of practice they'd need to stop that defense is huge. Their pass rush would also be neutralized which takes a big part of the defensive strength away. I'm not saying Bama doesn't have the talent to win but there's no way to simulate that Nebraska offense. It's hard to practice for what you're going to see when nobody runs it and your scout team can't replicate it.
