It would actually be A&M in the second round, but it's too early to start projecting matchups.
The good takeaway is we are ranked ahead of some other one-loss teams and undefeated BYU.

Hopefully Saturday was a sign that our pass rush is coming around and not just due to playing a horrific OL and a QB who never throws the ball away

Would not surprise me if Durkin gets the job. Their defense has been good. Also, there are too many openings and not enough splash candidates
Sooner or later a coach is going to announce that he is leaving when his team is in or about to be in the playoffs
I'm not even thinking about that. I'm tuning out all the Kiffin stuff until there is actually something concrete reported. I just like watching LSU fall apart

Speaking of batshit fanbases, LSU is a pretty dysfunctional situation. They don't have a full time president. The AD who hired Kelly may be pushed out of the loop on the next hire. The governor, who is looking for a boost to his falling poll numbers, is playing a large role in the process. Their next coach is coming in not knowing who he will really be answering to.

Negotiations may be LSU wanting to spread it out over a few years so the upfront number is not so huge

He can leave. Just please not LSU. I would hate to have to boo his arse.
Kelly is gone. They are trying to get his buyout down to a more manageable number before they pull the trigger. Get ready for a whole new round of rumors.

There's no guarantee we go 10-2 either.
Obviously. But 10-2 is the minimum. And a loss to Oklahoma would leave us with a relatively thin résumé.
This game is huuuuuuge. Because it’s no guarantee we get into the playoffs at 10-2
This may come down to who can force a turnover

That was a sage Ryan special

I don’t know what Georgia team everybody else has watched this year, but I’ve seen one team that’s frankly gotten lucky in two games and could easily have three losses
One could say the same about us. Maybe not lucky with calls, but we have played 4 one-score games, 3 against inferior competition.

Everyone hot coach who is being mentioned for Penn St, FL, etc. will get a new deal. Coaches are gonna be making $20m in a few years.
I think the key is penalties. They nearly cost us the last two games when we should have won by multiple scores.
Can't do that against Georgia. Can't kill promising drives with holding calls or gift them first downs on what should have been a stop.

I'm feeling better and better that Lane is here long term, short of the Alabama job opening up or him itching to try the NFL again.
College football has changed and it's no longer a slam dunk that coaches in a good situation will jump when a "bigger" program whistles. The transfer rules have significantly narrowed the gap between the "elite" and "good" programs. You have a 12 team playoff (which will eventually be 16) so a lot more schools have a path to contention.
It's similar to Cignetti's situation at Indiana. He's a PA guy so the speculation is he's going to Penn State. But Penn State fired a coach who was in the national semifinals last year, Why would he want that when he has shown he can win where he is?
Kiffin and Cignetti make big money, have full support and good infrastructure to sustain success. Staying where you are and eventually having a statue seems more appealing to me than taking a chance at leaving and maybe working for ESPN in three years.
