Our RB and safeties coaches are useless.

Losing recruit after recruit to 7-5 teams.

I was wondering where the Florida fans were at.

Mullen is a good coach but there is a lot of wasted baggage on that staff

It’s not a question mark, MuLLLen is straight up bad at recruiting as well as his staff. He is a very good offensive mind but there is no excuse for him to have this bad a performance as a recruiter at a school like Florida.

Can he though? He’s supposed to be an offensive guru and has never scored more than 17 against UGA.

Stop following recruiting. It is a miracle we ever finish in the top 10. Not our gig. Never will be unless we get someone like Urban again and you know the trouble that goes along with that. Mullen will recruit about like Spurrier and if he can win some titles it will improve but not to the levels of the top classes.

They are trying their hardest. That's all you can ask of them. They should get long, guaranteed, multi-year contracts for the effort they've put in.

The bigger problem for UF at this point, is that as *bad* as it seemed like MacElwain was at recruiting, he was actually hitting at a high rate (see: Athletic Article referenced in this post.)

Mullen is now recruiting slightly higher ranked classes, but I'm not sure that hit rate is remotely close to sustainable...

They're doing well on the transfer front, but I'm not sure you can patch enough holes there without doing pretty well with your HS recruiting. Also, Florida is a fertile state, and UF is still the best team in state right now... If you're not recruiting it well currently, it only gets harder if FSU and Miami improve, right?

Weird outcomes for sure. I think everyone knows recruiting isn't a strength for Mullen, but you'd still expect UF to somewhat recruit itself to a degree.

But I thought State fans were just being salty when we said Mullen will do this every year.

Heavesy and Gonzales can’t recruit for crap. Heavesy at least makes up for it by being an elite developer and coach. Gonzales just sucks bad. But they are Mullen’s boys so he’ll never fire them.

Mullen can't recruit. This is well known by now.

I thought the defensive haul for UF in 2019 and 2020 is impressive.

The offensive recruiting is offensive.

Points should be given for transfers. But it doesnt feel like the gap is closing with UGA solely because of the UF offense.

Florida just signed the #8 recruiting class and picked up a 5* RB in the transfer portal.

What kind of numbers did that 5* put up last year? Not sure I'd count Lingard or Shorter as 5*'s any more.

Which is a recipe for 4th-5th place in the SEC and falling behind in the talent gap.
