Apparently the talent was there if they were rated 5* to begin with.
Then throw the ratings out the window and Georgia really isn’t the #1 recruiting class this year.

It’s not that Mullen can’t recruit. It’s that he won’t recruit. He is too arrogant to beg a kid to play for him. He thinks it should be the other way around.

I'm really not worried about it. After the high school kids get smacked in the face and realize Mullen wasn't lying to them, we will get plenty through the transfer portal. It is the equalizer as compared to slimy recruiting. And I am not ragging on anyone in particular. If I had a coach who was doing whatever he could to bring talent to my team I would be all in for it as well. Urban was a master of this.

And busts happen every year. Shorter has 15 rec for 137 and no TD's in 2 years. Lingard blew out a knee and didn't even have an attempt last year. Which of those appear to be living up to their ranking?

Maybe, but none of UGA's current class have failed to live up to the hype yet. If any do, like DeAngelo Gibbs or Trenton Thompson from other classes, then I'd agree they were overrated.

Cant read the whole sentence or won't read the who sentence?
Sure he will if he can win like Spurrier. I would think his first few classes were along the same talent level as Spurrier's. Mullen is going to have to win first because he isn't going to recruit like others who magically sign top classes before they win.

Well many State fans were, and a few still are butthurt. It really isn't limited to recruiting comments. Many are not though. Those are the ones I like.

What? Spuurier,Urban and even Zook routinely pulled top 5/3 classes and that was with FSU and Miami having NC caliber teams many of those years.

Spurrier may have beaten FSU in recruiting once or twice during Bowden's tenure. And that was after he won big.
You know what he always loved? That Georgia was always signing the great classes and he was still kicking their asses.

The only coaches at Florida who have out recruited Mullen are Meyer and Zook. Spurrier had a couple of great classes after he won a natty. Florida had more discipline problems under Meyer and Zook than any other staff.

At least Spurrier signed a #1 class.
He also had very good classes before his natty when recruiting wasn't as hyped as it is now.
