Well for starters, you lose:

Top Rusher
3 of Top 4 Receivers
2 of 3 Top Tacklers
DL

And your corch is terrible and you have recruited poorly. MuLLLLen

All kinda comes down to whether they get eligibility. If they are immediately eligible, then it's a lot like adding a recruit... If not, you're in wait and see mode for a kid that may only stay for a year before bolting to the NFL.... Kind of a crap shoot.

Mullen really is the worst recruiter UF has had in a long while.

He's not a bad recruiter, but UF was a mainstay in the top 5 for two decades before Mullen. I'm don't think they went any 3 years without a top 3 class, let alone a top 5 class in the almost 20 years before Mullen.

Generally a 5-star transfer isn’t quite the same as a 5-star straight out of HS unless a QB (Fields, Murray, etc).

Take your very own 5-star transfer DE Brenton Cox. He had attitude issues and had troubles breaking through at UGA.

Generally there is baggage with a 5-star transfer - so if you want to tout the transfers go ahead if it helps ya.

Just curious what other 5 star players do you have on your roster that have attitude issues and trouble breaking through? I never heard a peep about this guy until he entered the transfer portal, then all of a sudden he had been a miserable SOB the whole time.

So go ahead and list them and we can come back and revisit this. Thanks in advance.

Georgia fans recruiting and trolling champs.

On the field, it's a different story. Forty years of not being able to win a national championship.

There was a moment on field where Deandre Walker got into it with the kid due to some effort issues. You may not have heard them, but it was pretty well known throughout his freshman year. That doesn't mean he's not talented... just that he didn't seem to shine in the "must compete all the time to earn playing time" grind that Smart operates under. Additionally, he was red-flagged as a recruit for a lot of the same stuff before we were ever in the picture. Many UGA fans shrugged it off once he signed, but clearly, the initial indicators were a pretty good read on the situation.

Fortunately for UF, once a kid transfers, they kind of are in "no more second chances" mode... I anticipate that Cox will be a solid addition for you all in 2020, despite his troubles in Athens.

I like Cox. He is a physical freak.

He comes with issues (off and on the field). On the field, he was unbearably poor at keeping contain against the run. It was a lack of awareness and in his teammates eyes a lack of effort. That can be coached for the most part (grantham is great at that). He is 3 years removed from high school. There is a chance that he can put it all together. At UGA, you either have it together or are deep on the bench at such a loaded position like OLB. He was just a freshman and sophomore so that tells you where he saw himself at UGA.

Hasn’t that been Mullen’s style ever since he became a head coach? He is great at getting the most out of his players but he isn’t very good at getting players on campus.

Fibonacci and Meansonny did a great job explaining to you both the attitude and effort issues with Brenton Cox at UGA.

Maybe he will improve on both at UF - for his sake, I hope he does.

Muschamp recruit well, too?

Absolutely.I believe he had a couple of top 5 classes

Muschamp was a goddamn horrible recruiter.

He is/was more relatable than Mullen, so for a H2H, yeah Muschamp could become Dante Fowler's best friend and flip him from FSU the day before NSD.

That doesn't mean Jack shite if you have no concept of strategy, balance, evaluation, or roster management.

Muschamp is singlehandedly responsible for the worst OL roster in modern UF history, the worst WR roster in modern UF history, the mismanagement and misevaluation of -what- 4 future NFL QBs?

Average Muschamp class:
5 star pass rusher
5 star corner
ten 4 star defenders
two 3 star OL coming off ACL tears
3 star WR passed on by other in state schools
2 star WR passed on by Jacksonville State

Rank: 6th

Many kids don't get the warm and fuzzies with Mullen. The good side is you end up with more mature kids, for the most part.

May have been bad at roster mgt but he
was able to sign posistion groups on both sides of the ball.

UF 2012 class

Blue Chip breakdown:

OL:2 (5 star and 4 star and 2 of the 5 highest rated signees)

DL:4 (two 5* and two 4*)

TE:two 4*

LB:three 4*

TE:two 4*

WR:one 4* RB:one 4*

9 on defense/7 on offense

BTW his .9178 in average in '12 was higher than every class CMR had at UGA except one...thats in 15 seasons. If Muschamp was a "horrible recruiter" what does that make Mark Richt?
