I'm not sure if you are aware or not, but Alabama actually went up against Muschamp's defense this year. Records were set. Go ahead and hire him. We schooled his Gator D with a RB taking snaps behind center.
Yeah... not sure how I missed the post you're responding to.
Numbers against Muschamp:
2014 (UF) - 42 points
2011 (UF) - 38 points
2009 (Texas) - 37 points

Giving up 37+ a game makes it tough for any coach to win. I don't care how good you are.

He is so focused on his troll he didn't even pick up on your sarcasm...

We lack depth. We commit too many penalties. We had our most dynamic defender hurt in the spring. I know people look for a magic bullet that explains everything quickly and neatly , but it is a host of things that need to be fixed.
Depth is the issue I want to address because I have discussed it with some of my friends who are on various coaching staffs. Now, I'm not making accusations against Auburn because admittedly I dont know the AU roster by heart. But, the popular conception with HUNH teams is that the head coach will 1) focus more on finding stud offensive recruits and 2) have a greater tendency to move "athlete" recruits to the offensive side of the ball, thus limiting the defensive depth and talent.
Do yall agree with that conception? Are there examples within the AU roster that would fit this idea?

They got this one dude named Nick Marshall that was probably their best safety.

We shouldn't talk about anything except whatever game we have coming up.
I mean, I get being totally obtuse about the fact that you're repeating the same mantra discussed ad nauseum in a new thread that contains the ranting of some Alabama fan, but it's still odd.

Malzahn should have drawn the line when his defensive coordinator announced his plans to cover Cooper one-on-one.

Just glanced at the two deep and I don't see any gaping holes filled with low rated recruits. We have some youth there and higher rates guys not living up to their recruiting rankings.

Let them keep thinking he is a wizard.
Did you not watch the IB? He put up 600 yards of O and 44 points on saban/smart. It is obvious Gus knows what he is doing.

Also moved a 5* WR to CB.

Fair enough. Like I said, I dont know the AU roster that well. I do know with Saban he has a bit of the opposite tendency. He will put "athletes" on defense if he has his choice. A good current example would be A'shawn Robinson. He was considered to be either an outstanding OT or an outstanding DT and Saban put him at DT from day 1. He would probably be starting on the OL if he would have played there. Saban has also moved lots of WRs to DBs in his various stops.

It's a troll man, none of them actually believe Gus is anything less than a high end head coach.

but only after trying him at WR for several years

Last score was pure garbage points and means nothing. All those yards mean nothing if you get stuffed in the red zone and settle for field goals.

Maybe on offense....how did he manage only 7 points against UGA?

Couldn't catch a pass on O and can't stop a pass on D. I'm not sure how he was ever a 5*

Should Bama win the NC this year, go into Auburn next year and win, Gustav will be on the hot seat.
Doubt me? This situation is starting to look like Gene Chizik 2 and another year like this one won't be tolerated. The Family is not known for its patience.
