Little League parents taking their terribleness to new levels in Philadelphia. Per Axios...
quote:

A youth baseball game came to a halt in a small Philadelphia suburb last month when parents started pointing up at the sky.

It wasn't a ball, or a bird, that caught their eye — but rather, a banner, towed by an airplane, calling out a parent by name.

…The flyover, at a May 18 Little League game, targeted a father who recently complained about league scheduling. Magid complained to officials about a decision to end the in-house season early for the second straight year so more advanced players could begin competing on summer travel teams. He felt it unfair to intramural players who wouldn't get to compete in a playoff to crown a champion.

I love the lottery ticket hope mentality of youth sports.

I loved my little league days and that includes some competitive (travel) ball back in the 70's-80's. On any given day other than July 4th, there may be a grand total of 30 parents in the bleachers, mainly because they'd hauled a bunch of kids to the game and it was easier to just sit and hang out before they had to haul us all back home. What I know for a fact is that none of 'em ever dropped a fricking dime to shove it up some parent's arse with something as petulant and gaudy as a flyover. People gripe about the millennials and "kids these days"...I would suggest that it has nothing to to with the actual kids and everything to do with the dipshits raising them.

Yet another reason why travel ball parents suck.

Parents suck in general. Was at a friend's son's T-ball game, and some dude was going nuts. Losers living vicariously through their children.

Wow, way over the line. I don't care about any side, but to go out and intentionally humiliate another parent with extreme tactics like that, not acceptable. Sometimes, we forget that children are watching, listening and will eventually do something similar because they think it's ok. Not cool! Also, every parent on that team knows who did it and he/she needs to be thrown out of the league.

Wow. An intramural parent expressed frustration over a season cut short for no good reason, and the travel ball parents show their asses by renting a banner calling him out?

Why didn’t they use that money they spent on the banner to pay all the intramural parents a refund for the unused officials/field costs?

Unless I have really bad reading comprehension(very possible), I agree with the complaining parent. They paid their money for a certain number of games knowing his kid doesn’t play travel ball. Why should his season be cut short so those other players can go somewhere else? There’s no doubt that you have travel dads over the league that are making changes for their kids. If you want to get started with travel season and make changes to league ball, don’t play. Let the other kids enjoy what they signed up for.

“ between $650 and $1,200 to fly personalized banners” And they say travel ball parents enjoy throwing their money away.

Wish I had $650-1200 in spending cash.
