It's like people think Gus caused our defense to give up 5 straight touchdowns.

I would argue its shaping up more like Terry Bowden 2.0

Obviously Gus did give up all of them. I don't know why you'd roll out a 40something white guy to cover Amare Cooper, but Gus is the guy making the calls. If he thinks he is the best CB, you have to accept it.

I haven't watched enough Auburn to have an informed position, but I think you're missing a defensive line that can control the LOS. A defense that can get some stops and force some turnovers with pressure is all you need to have a lot of success with that offense. Calling the HUNH the death of defense is reactionary at best and bloody stupid at worst.

Maybe on offense....how did he manage only 7 points against UGA?

UGA played a great game. Auburn's O made a lot of mistakes in that game also. Gus' O have not been the problem. The problem has been allowing an average of 39 points against SEC teams for most of this year. You aren't going to win a lot of games when your D gives up that many points. That problem is trying to be rectified as we speak.

AU was obviously overlooking Georgia.

Should Bama win the NC this year, go into Auburn next year and win, Gustav will be on the hot seat. Doubt me? This situation is starting to look like Gene Chizik 2 and another year like this one won't be tolerated. The Family is not known for its patience.

Not really. Other than comparable records, nothing is remotely the same.

Did you miss when Bama went into hurry up mode? I bet you missed it due to all your whining about the refs.

Thanks for making my point. Great teams use it as a wrinkle in a much larger offensive philosophy...Gus uses it as his entire schtick.

He is basically our OC. We need a DC. That's why we are trying to hire one as we speak.

It's a troll man, none of them actually believe Gus is anything less than a high end head coach.

bullshite. We honestly don't think that highly of him as a coach. The bottom line is the jury is still out on him as a head coach at Auburn. He could have a great season next year or he could go 4-8.

You also don't know what you are talking about by saying he uses it the entire time. You are an uninformed poster is all.

This is what I said. Obviously reading is not your "thing".

Dumb post is dumb. People try to tear down because that's what rivals do...they talk trash to each other and get under their skin, as this thread has obviously done. Fear? That's a laugh. Nobody tries to tear down Vandy because they're no one's serious rival and not worth talking smack to.

Yeah, actually I did. When during the game did this happen?

They call it the HUNH for a reason...instead of just NH. Why isn't it redundant to say HUNH? Because NH isn't necessarily HUNH. Alabama often goes no huddle...but you won't see Bama hurrying up to the line and running a play quickly.

600 yards of offense doesn't tell the story in its entirety. API's offense in the red zone and settled for 5 FG's and an a 4th down turnaway. Now, that's defense. Bama made adjustments at halftime when we 12 pts. behind, suddenly finding our team 19 pts. ahead. Only to give a token TD (no big play) to API in appreciation for running clock out. That's the summary of the real game. Bama's defense just got stronger. The other schools defense was wore out! Everyone saw it. No one can deny it.

Gus's attempt to wear down other teams defenses, didn't work with Bama. In the end, the stigma of the HUNH at the other school has been figured out.

How do you watch that game and say he attempted to wear down Bama's defense? He never tried to pace it and threw downfield a ton.
