What are the rumors?

1. Not everyone wants the death penalty.

2. No one thinks he should retain driving privileges.

3. He may have a mental illness that needs treatment

4. He may have substance abuse issues.

5. We feel for the Bramblett family

6. The senseless loss of life must be reconciled in court in some fashion.

7. No punishment or civil damages will bring back 2 people who died because of a young person’s actions.

That wasn't an accident, that was vehicular homicide.

That 16 year old deserves to rot in jail for the rest of his life. Death penalty is what he deserves. frick that kid. Hope his family is run out of town and their homes and businesses shut down. They dont deserve to live in Auburn or be anywhere near Auburn. Shame on their family. SHAME!!!!

For reference, vehicular homicide in Alabama refers to a situation where the offending party is negligent (e.g not aware) of the risk/dangerous consequences of their actions. Most people define that as an accident which is why it is only a misdemeanor in the state of Alabama.

You may mean vehicular manslaughter which is when someone knowingly is reckless and aware of the risk/dangers of their actions. Vehicular manslaughter in Alabama is a Class B Felony

Punishment could definitely save someone else’s life because this kid has apparently learned nothing from killing two people.

Geez, you're like arguing with a teenage girl.

Here, let me try your approach- We should really just get him a faster and safer car. Maybe if we just bought him a helmet, a gas card and pray for him, he'd get better. Let's just give him a dozen more chances. He's a good kid, just really misunderstood and needs attention. His family is the best and no matter how many people end up hurt or killed, it won't change how great they are.

It’s not the kid’s fault he has a lead foot. Poor kid is obviously doing his best.

nontraditional family upbringing

What you are referencing is true.

This is nonsensical. He has 2 parents that get along very well. It's not traditional, but there are many family dynamics much more extreme where kids aren't "sociopaths".

Sorry, youre are right. Lets go get the parents. I'll go buy the torches, you bring the rope.

You blame the parents but know absolutely nothing about what goes on within their family. Perhaps the mom and dad are trying their best and the kid isnt responding to their teachings. how the frick would you know any different?

Probably. There's not going to be any convincing by either side.

It was not traditional, but doesn't need to be aired on message boards. He grew up with 2 loving parents who get along fine, as well as a great extended family. This upbringing had no effect on him for 16 years, and has nothing to do with the horrible choices he keeps making. This is a dumbass kid who can't seem to get right, and it's putting lives at risk other than his own. Hopefully he can get his life straightened out.

If the kid owns the car, the parents can’t simply “take the keys”. If the kid is 16 and has mental issues, the parents can’t simply “handle it”.

If the kid is getting this many tickets, his license should be suspended shortly. But as we all know, having a suspended license doesn’t keep someone from driving. It just makes it illegal.

Umm..... it's not an "accident". An example of an accident is changing lanes and not seeing the car in your blind spot, then hitting them.

Someone gets fried, drives 89-91 mph in a high traffic area, and rear ends a stopped car at a red light, resulting in the death of two people is Vehicular Homicide.
