This entire story is shocking to me on so many levels. Why did the kid even still have a license after the Bramblett crash? How and why are his parents still allowing him to operate a vehicle? So stupid on many levels.

Because they are bigger trash than he is. Kids like this are not born. They are raised by horrible parents.

He needs to lose his license for a few years for his own good.
I can't believe his parents or insurance company is still allowing him to drive.

I get internet outrage, but this is not fair. Kid is obviously very troubled, making stupid decisions hand over fist, and is very close to ruining his life beyond repair. That being said, I was a dumbfrick 16 year old at one time too...but my stupid decisions did not have near the ramifications his has had, and we don't know what affects it's having on his 16 year old mind. He comes from a very Auburn entrenched family, and a very stupid decision that had results that will be replayed for years that he is going to have to reconcile. His decisions have had consequences that are being aired on Game Day, stickers on AU helmets...imagine that as a 16 year old kid and dealing with it while living in Auburn.
Please know im not excusing his choices that tragic day, or his extremely stupid and dangerous choices since then. There are consequences he must deal with, and I hope he gets his shite together sooner rather than later.
But he does come from a very good family. This family has been in Auburn for generations, and brought a lot of good to Auburn.
Just hope this young man gets his shite figured out, because the trajectory is not good.

Also, what’s the whole deal with the poor cat thing... saying it’s pretty bad then asking the officer if he wanted to see it?!?!?!? Something doesn’t seem in line with this kid.

Just send this piece of shite to live in Somalia or somewhere. frick him. I can forgive the initial accident. But to not learn from his mistakes? There’s something seriously wrong with him and his raising.

Revoke his bond. Take away his license and make him wear an ankle bracelet. Although young he should know better. This is a bad look for him and his family.

It's not outrage, it's damn disgust. As far as the family doing so,so very much for Auburn and the community how in the HELL do you ignore what this lil demented, spoiled frick has done and continues to do to the COMMUNITY.
frick them and their monetary resources and influence.
Any true loving father would have delivered the punk a lesson in life and humanity.

I never believed the (kid) fell asleep driving. I think he was high and reckless.
I say that because I have fallen asleep at the wheel for a few seconds after working too much and driving home and even with my foot on the accelerator I slowed. Takes effort to hit 90.

Kid seems uncontrollable. I would hate to be in his parents' shoes.

So when SECdragonmaster's kid becomes HELLSdragonmaster we'll know for certain that you're simply horrible too? Just like we're all certain the boy headed right home and fessed up about incident two?
Not taking up for the kid; but unless you know the parents it sounds like he's not the only who's got some growing up to do.

If his family were good people as you say he would not have access to the car he is currently driving.
Posted on 12/14/19 at 9:06 am to bigtrain333
And if the rumors are true about his unusual origins and nontraditional family upbringing then I'm not surprised that he has become a sociopath. I just hope his great family get sued for everything they have because that's probably the only thing that will get their attention. Really lucky that he didn't kill someone else since May when you read those police reports.

Common sense.
Accidents happen, but when there is loss of life there has to be consequences.
For my kids, each had a fender bender in a parking lot. I did not take away their keys. There was no loss of life or significant property damage.
I could not hand the keys back to a kid who drove a car where someone was killed as a result of his bad decision making.

What kind of parents allow their 16 y/o to continue to drive until he has proven that he is responsible for the privilege? He killed two people, going 91mph, in town! It's clear, with his recent extreme speeding tickets, that he probably should never drive again. His parents are enablers, at best. I'm sure his jeep, that he used to kill the Brambletts, was totalled, and the article states he was driving a Kia Turbo in one of his recent tickets. Did mom and dad get him a new car?

Seriously? This idiot got high, driving 91mph in a high traffic area, killed two people, orphaned two kids, then continues to smoke dope, speed, and drive reckless. Are you saying he is the best con man to ever walk the Earth, or could it be that Mommy and Daddy are turning a blind eye to all the signs that their little boy is a bad egg?
Hell, his own defense attorney is publicly shaking his damn head!

The initial reaction is to always blame the parents. Perhaps it’s warranted in this case, but perhaps it’s not. I don’t know what the home environment is there anymore than y’all do.
What I can tell you, as a parent that raised a mentally troubled teen, is that even the best parents with the best resources and the best advice, treatment, medications can still end up where these people are. Trust me. I know.
Furthermore, the age of consent for medical treatment in Alabama is 16. So, if this kid is refusing medication, refusing psychiatric help, and refusing hospitalization, there is nothing the parents, police, or caregivers can do.
Again, this could be a case of Ritchie Rich and a spoiled brat run amok. Or, it could be what we had: a disturbed kid.
