Helped a buddy out and flew a trip on a King Air. The owner tipped me $100 when we landed. I felt weird, but got over it.

Vaporware. If I were a betting man, I'd say you'll never see one.

I’d think it would be OK. It’s basically a touch-and-go….kinda hard, but probably about as violent as a carrier landing (I know Hercs don’t land on carriers but they are designed to land on some rough terrain).
Nope, if that plane hadn't of crashed, it would have probably been a static display somewhere. You can see the empennage flex the fuselage, the outer wings flex. Count on cracked center wing box and significant fuselage damage.
That wasn't a "hard landing."
540 feet per min sink rate is max allowable on an assault landing.
I've flown my share after post hard landing repairs. One plane had flown in 5 years. Always exciting.
re: What's on your Easter menu?
Posted by slacker130 on 4/18/25 at 8:49 am
I do a super easy ham every year for Thanksgiving and this Easter as well.
Just a plain Smithfield ham, NOT spiral cut, facedown in a disposable aluminum pan. On the green egg w/ some applewood chunks. Heat it for about 4 hrs, basting with the juices in the pan, occasionally.
It's freaking delicious and everyone loves it.
I'm really just heating a precooked ham on the egg, but people rave over it.
The wife is doing some Mac and cheese in the crockpot, deviled eggs, and probably some butter beans or field peas or both.

I bought a used Old Town Discovery 169 in 2012 for $400. It's seen 300-500 river miles and been a good boat.
It's heavy now, that I'm 13 years older. I'm not tossing it on the roof rack alone any more.

I dont think I've ever had a step conversation with coworkers.
Years ago, when the fitbit craze was in, I had a coworker would insist she got as many steps as I did everyday. My day included an hour on the track, she never left her office.
Well, finally I called BS, borrowed her fitbit for an afternoon to prove my point. I got 2-3K steps sitting in my office chair for a few hours.
Not all trackers are equal.
3 miles = 5900ish steps for me. Hard to get 10k steps in the office.

One thing I learned with my kids is a cheap baitcaster will build frustration. A quality baitcaster will build enjoyment and casting skill.

(Discount Tires) I'm not sure if all their stores are run this well or if this one just has a heckuva good manager.
They are all like this.
The one close to me, last time I was there, a pissed off giant lady was just being a complete a-hole to the staff.
She ain't got time for 'dis! Came in a clapped out Altima with 4 different tires, one with a flat. The employee told her he couldn't repair the tire and couldn't let her drive away. She's going ballistic before the guy even finishes telling her what he can do. After a few minutes of her cursing and smacking the counter, he was able to say that he thinks he has a used tire that would work.
She cuts him off, she ain't buying anything from them! He lets her rage for another minute, and he finally is able to tell her that it will be no charge.
This giant bitch that threw a fit was stunned. She was an absolute a-hole to this guy and he basically solved her problem of the day for free.
Chick-fil-a of tires.

I just had GAF timberline HDZ Charcoal installed a few months back.
I was originally thinking pewter, but I drove by 4-6 houses with pewter with recent installs in the past 5 years. All were stained.
I know there's a stain warranty, but the charcoal doesn't stain.
