This would be an entertaining novelty, but put them on skates and I think you’ve got an actual pretty good sport. Plenty of washed out major junior, minor league hockey players to fill the rosters as well. Would be some nasty hits. Head to toe cut protection gear required tho

Gotta win 4 of the first 5

What’s he supposed to say? That’s the business model. Insurance is a heavily regulated, low growth industry so if he wants his 10-30m a year compensation he’s got to play the game.

Any changes to the approach will be incremental and take multiple years, outside of a complete paradigm shift in the industry that likely would be caused by a change from government and/or regulatory bodies.
We will all start watching when it gets to 64. Nobody cares about the play ins. This is a bad decision but ultimately won’t change much for my viewing

He’s not going to. It will be an NFL approach where the GM is primarily responsible for player acquisition (obviously with CBB’s oversight).

Gonna be an interesting experiment that could alter the sport if successful. Will be interesting to watch.
Freeze gets fired for a losing record next year. If not, we aren’t trying anymore.

Agreed. He should’ve been fired in 2015

That would’ve been pretty insane as well.

The correct answer was not giving the extension after 2017, or at least not one with such a rich buyout.

I really don’t know how now, after 4 straight losing seasons, there’s such a lack of humility from our fanbase. Gus wasn’t the forever answer for Auburn, primarily because of his issues against UGA and LSU. After seeing what the bottom looks like though, you would think people would have some perspective and realize Gus wasn’t the disaster he’s made out to be.

Sure, Gus wasn’t gonna retire at Auburn, he was going to be let go at some point.

Firing him after 2020, fake covid season, where Gus had a winning record against all SEC schedule anyway (seems like a pipe dream now), with the state of our administration…absolutely moronic.

Boosters who wanted him gone were scared to give him 2021 because they rightfully feared he would beat Alabama at JHS like he did 3/4 tries and they’d be stuck with him for another year.
4 quarters and adjust the foul bonus accordingly. That’s the biggest thing, getting to reset the bonus 3 times rather than just 1. A team in the bonus for 10+ minutes straight is overly punitive (especially given the quality of CBB officials), and worse to watch.
Move your family across the country away from all family, that spices things up
Nothing untrue here, not sure something this obvious deserved an article though. Hugh has to put up or get fired this year.
Grew up a Braves fan, but always liked other teams as well (primarily the Orioles, that’s who my Dad and his siblings cheered for as kids before the Braves moved to Atlanta, Cal Ripken, etc).

I basically quit watching baseball altogether after I went to college. Anyhow, a friend of mine was a Cubs fan and I started watching games with him in the 2007 season, and became a fan after that. I kept up with it a good bit until the Cubs won in 2016, and haven’t cared as much since then. Still generally hope the Braves are successful (although the online Braves fanbase is oft annoying). Still have a soft spot for the Orioles. Would probably get back into it more with the Cubs if Ricketts was playing to win, but hard to get too invested when the owner isn’t.
Gus would’ve loved to have kept Lashlee, his hand got forced on that one.

Should’ve given Dillingham playcalling responsibility and $ to keep him in 2020, but surely this board isn’t upset about that, since Gus got fired that year, which people still shockingly defend as the right move.
