quote:well, to be fair, they currently have one win against a team with a winning record (NCSt)
Yr2- #2 in SECE, likely 8-4 regular season with only competitive road losses
5 of their 7 wins have come against teams with 6 losses

Well, PM doesn’t know shite, so there’s that.

I bet after that bullshite LSU loss. What a little bitch. I'm glad he manned up though.

I don't get the Chad Morris thing yet

Not if a guy like Chad Morris was brought in and Kevin Steele and his defensive staff was retained.
Maybe if a absolute perfect hire was made and everything fit like a glove. That happens like once in a million. 9 times out of 10, the entire staff is let go and it all starts over. So that means we would probably lose Steele and the progress we have made on defense. Recruiting would probably change and maybe even a brand new style of offense. We all know how fun that was before.
IF Gus leaves, fans are going to get what they bitched and whined for so much this year. A new coach with all new shite to go with it. Good for us

If Gus goes home to Arky
He'd much rather be in Auburn. Arkansas is a rough place to recruit. They're between the Big12 teams and SEC. I'd love to see Gus win the SEC and then Auburn make him one of the top 10 highest paid coaches and then be done with the coaching change talk for years. I said if he didn't win Georgia he should be fired. I didn't think it was possible but he's a changed man since the LSU shite show.

Yup, He is a stubborn man and frustrating to say the least, but if he can evolve he is as good as any out there. He recruits well, and just needs to get out of his own way sometimes. His propensity to shoot to a big lead and then lose it kind of sucks bad, and deserved the criticism over LSU game this year. However, I think he can become a long stable coach for Auburn should he shed that bad habit.
He ain't going to Arky as he wouldn't be there but 4-6 years either. You can't recruit for shite there.

I just hope his more loose demeanor/relaxed mood stays. He is likeable even in an awkward way when he isn't trying to fight reporters

Agreed, He needs to have fun and walk with a fricking swagger.

If there is some friction with Gus and the "bosses", that may be a reason he would want to leave. Who knows what has been going on up in the higher ups lately. Its not like we are known to stay loyal to a coach.
They may have pissed him off lately and he may just be tired of the BS

You wonder why you get so much shite and then you go and make a thread like this

Danny Sheridan via Sexton

I mentioned Chad Morris because the transition from Gus Malzahn to him would me easy on offense, minus tweaks here and there. They have a lot of the same principles.
Posted on 11/15/17 at 6:07 pm to TTsTowel
Hell just name Steele HC, defensive staff stays, retain Chip and plug in offensive assitant holes if they leave. Surely Gus would want Rhett at Arky for recruiting purposes.

I thought he was despised by most in Arkansas bc of the stuff that went on with Mustain? Now all of a sudden they are all in on him?
And there would be just as much pressure there to win (maybe not at first). He would be the prodigal son coming home to be the savior. When he doesnt win all the past will start to rear its ugly head and they will be out for his head.

True, but he seems relaxed and that could mean one of two things. He knows he is leaving and going to go out his way, or he feels the confidence of the new president and the fact JJ is leaving.
Time will tell

Only reason I'd worry about Gus bolting to Arkansas is to not have to deal with so much hot seat talk and nosy boosters.
Posted on 11/15/17 at 6:27 pm to Hussss
Gus bolts for Arkansas.
AU hires Tuberville as AD.
Tuberville hires Kiffin as HC.
Everybody wins, except Arkansas and Gus.
