Arky is for sure a step down, we just don’t know what type of crap he has to put up with behind the scenes and an 8-5 coach at Arkansas has no pressure.

Mac won two east titles on his D recruits alone. His main mistake was trying to convert to a two TE set O. He adjusted at USCe. Holland and Davis on our D will be first round picks. They aren’t here without Champ.

In the hypothetical world I would not hate it. I think FL fired him too soon. The guy can recruit and will have a good defense. SC was headed down hill and he stopped that ball rolling with solid coaching and a good young qb. It's such a crap shoot nowadays and he is somewhat proven. With him, a lot like Kirby, it depends on the OC hire and recruiting. The former being the bigger if than the latter.

I’m DEFINITELY not fascinated with him as a HC but I just know Auburn’s hiring pattern.

Hussss is right on.

Our candidates would probably be.. Muschamp and Rhett and Chip.. then we would beg for David Cutcliffe or a Jeff Brohm, they would say no.. So out of the 3 real candidates Muschamp would seem great!

Kristi and Gus both have elderly family back in Arkansas... Gus' parent are willing to move to Auburn... Kristi's are not... She wants to go be near her parents. We will find out soon enough.....

Plus Gus and Sexton have nothing to lose by pitting two colleges against each other.

Not relevant to anything regarding the Auburn job

They're 11th in the SEC in offense and 13th in rushing offense. Whatever he changed hasn't done much.

And yes I'm very aware that we have defensive stars thanks to his recruiting ability when he was here in 2015.That alone doesn't make him a good choice for head coach

Gus tempered my frustration Saturday, but in no way would I let him get a raise by pitting us against Arky. Leave that to LSU

it seems strange that you are more excited about gus going to arkansas than auburn destroying the #1 team in the country and their biggest rival

I wouldn’t harbor any bad feelings if he went home. That is hard to turn down. Would pull for him outside of our game each year.

Stidham will be coming back. Our roster is stacked and I don't see that changing. Gus will have the opportunity to compete for a championship next season. Seriously, why would he leave for a school who has never won the SEC?

Plus, we will have a new AD and it has been widely speculated that Gus never cared for JJ.

Gus needs to go ahead and win these next 5 games first.

This has Jimmy Sexton written all over it. I say the new AD needs to hold fast and not give any ridiculous salary increases. Gus has, at a minimum, got to win the SEC before I would be comfortable giving him a raise. I do believe as well that if we call his bluff and if he does leave that we can easily find a great head coach to replace him. Not only will we have an elite roster next year, but Auburn is a good place to recruit top talent.

Welp looks like the distraction for the IB will be Gus to Arky. All Finebaum can talk about for first 30min is Gus is gone. At least this means they dont have shite on cheating allegations against us.

You also don't give an inch on any buyouts for head or assistant coasches. If he wants to go and take assistants with him make them pay every last red cent
