DeSean Bishop Powers Tennessee Past Auburn, 24-14

No. 17 Tennessee bounced back with a 24-14 win over Auburn on Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium.

The Volunteers trailed 7-3 at halftime before taking control in the second half behind running back DeSean Bishop, who rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries.

Bishop scored twice in the third quarter, including a 44-yard touchdown run that gave Tennessee a 17-7 lead. Auburn cut the deficit to three early in the fourth, but Bishop answered with his third touchdown to put the game away.

Tennessee also made a change at quarterback after freshman Faizon Brandon struggled early. Brandon finished 3-of-8 for zero passing yards with an interception, while George MacIntyre came in and completed 8-of-10 passes for 86 yards.

Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown threw for 159 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while adding 107 rushing yards and another score.

The Tigers actually outgained Tennessee 345-323 but committed three turnovers and were flagged 11 times for 94 yards.

Tennessee improved to 4-1 with the win, while Auburn fell to 3-2.
