did this 3 years ago before we were committed to the Freezus mistake, so its a little different, but here goes anyway:

what is your general feeling about the Golesh hire?

upvote = positive or neutral (anything from ‘15-0 ship year 1!’ to ‘eh, lets wait and see’)
dowwnvote = negative (ranging from ‘doesn’t matter, we’ll be doing this same shite three years from now’ to ‘i envy the Florida folks who are burning down Stricklin’s house rn’)

for the record, i’m upvoting - he was an early favorite of mine and i think he’s got an excellent chance at succeeding here if we give him the time and support

Positive, but skeptical after the past 2 coaches. I trust no coach that comes in anymore.

Pretty positive. Not predicting 15-0 ship, but I think this guy could possibly do it. Little bit of a wait and see, but I'm in a lot better mindset and much more hopeful for the future with Golesh than with the last two hires.

I am positive. He did not inherit a ton at his last job and did a great turnaround.

I think we are bowling next year and by year three in playoff discussions in the middle of November.

I've been surprised. Some Dbag from LSU started a thread calling him Brian Kelly 2.0, and he got roasted.

Positive! This team and their loser's mentality needs a hard arse who is also a plyers coach and I believe Golesh is that guy. Not be mention, he is damn good at offense and he is not autistic like Gus or Kiffin.

I like him

- I don't really see a schtick.
- I think he's very smart.

You get the usual trolls but the general tenor of the rant overall has been pretty positive.

I like the hire. He is young. He seems hungry. Nobody is pulling for him more than me.

He came across as a no nonsense type guy who will demand total effort from players and coaches.

Seems to be the type man who won't be an aw shucks type but a kick butt when needed.

I'm liking the hire the more I look into it. I didn't expect the hire, so I didn't think much of it until now. He seems very charismatic and hungry. From what I've seen he is a culture builder as well.

I'm always optimistic though, just like with the last 2 hires. I'd kinda like to see that thread from 3 years ago.

Pretty much the same. I feel like most of the pieces are here to be good next year. Im tempering my expectations because of the past 2 hires, but I wouldnt be surprised if he's the coach we have all been waiting for.
Plus, the popular coach hires seemed to have not fared so well lately. We have the tools to be elite, I hope Golesh is the one who uses them

Positive as long as he can recruit. It's Jimmies and Joes, along with Xs and Os! We just got rid of a guy that could get us J & J, but put together a shite staff that couldn't coach.

That being said, I don't think anybody else will outwork Golesh. This guy seems like the type that eats, breathes, and lives football.

Cautiously optimistic. I like the hire, though I wanted to go the P4 coordinator route. He's certainly a much better hire than Durkin.

I feel confident that he can consistently get us to 9 wins most every season. The question is can he get us over that hump and in the playoffs most every season. I'm also remaining cautious because I have no idea what his staff will look like. Hopefully he's not forced to hire a bunch of former players and coaches.

I'm not really tempering expectations. The offseason will dictate that for me. And its already set up with all these possible wins that if we hit on all or most of them the fans are gonna be ready to blow the roof off Jordan-Hare. And you best believe imma be there for the first SEC home game.

But if DJ leaves, Cam leaves, we hire a g5 DC, the ol transfers seem mid and Byrum goes somewhere else my expectations will be set for me. I'll be buckled in my wait and see chair.

But at the same time if we go into the season with Byrum QB, Cam WR1, stud transfers on the o line and DJ still on the sideline... why would I not expect to be competing for the playoffs?

ALL IN. Think he can win quick. Breath of fresh air from the last few coaches.

Pretty easy to win a press conference.

No idea until I start seeing us play with him as coach. Don’t hate the hire.

One thing I liked when looking into him was he was recruiting coordinator at a couple of his stops. Led them to highly rated classes (in the context of the schools he was at)
