Yall need competent wildlife enforcement if people are just dumping dogs wherever they want. It hasn’t been like that around me in 30 years.

Yes. They did ship it today though so I’m happy.
I want to shoot something like that. Why’s your buddy have it? He after hippos?
Mine is about 20 years old. No need for 3.5 but I have a pile of buckshot for it so that’s what I’m going to shoot until I run out.
It was nuts shooting it at paper. It was crazy how bad it kicked. Even standing with a rest, knowing it was going to buck, it was wild. My ported choke did nothing.

Let’s talk hard hitting guns/ammo

I paper tested my SBE2 with 3.5” buckshot yesterday . The double x Winchester damn near killed me. First shot literally hurt my jaw. Second wasn’t as bad. I got a Carlson buck shot choke and today just shot it. Holy smokes. I damn near scoped myself. I’m pretty sure my nose is bruised and my collar bone may be fractured. Wow. The federal wasn’t as bad recoil but worse results on paper. I’ve killed over 10 deer with this shotgun and don’t remember a kick at all. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing.

In Florida, dogs must be registered with FWC. Also have gps collars, owner name, and phone number. If you are on someone’s else’s land they can report you. After a small amount of infractions you are banned. I’m not sure what the fine or repercussions are because no one I know has had any issues. They do their damndest to obey the rules. They have thoundsands and thousands of dollars invested in Garmin, dogs , truck, etc. That does not count the countless hours feeding dogs and training them, or vet bills. The last thing they want to do is piss that away. They would also be kicked out of our camp promptly.

I wish I could take yall all hunting with me. You’d see not every dog hunter is a POS. I’m convinced most of you hate dog hunters without ever being around it. Yall don’t have a dog hunting problem. You have a POS problem and need some competent wild life enforcement. Shocker that Florida manages to do this better than most. We have laws and they are abided.
Not sure of details but seems they are coming after dog hunting very hard. This is like gun control. First they come for the deer hounds, next thing you know they come for your retrievers. We need to hold on to every inch we have.

Got an 82 lb doe yesterday. Still at it today. One of the guys killed a good 7 point. Great weather today. Wife and three year old are home with stomach issues so I’m trying to stretch this weekend as long as I can.

Got a dozen and a half, donut holes, and 2 Yoo-hoos. The day is a success no matter what.

N Fl
46 NW wind
12 and 20 gauge
Headed to my dog camp with 7 and 3 year old. Catahoula riding shotgun. Little man kept us up all night throwing up but swears he’s good. No fever so off we go. Hopefully the donut shop hasn’t sold out before we get there.
Just snagged one. I have a charger and the bolt action already with a bunch of mags. I’ve been waiting on a decent deal on a threaded one.
My dog goes with me everywhere because I have an outdoor job. I’d leave her arse in the truck with the windows down if I was at the Super Bowl though.

Agree. I use them because others do. I’m probably done. I killed a good one last year because I saw he was there the afternoon before. There was zero feeling of accomplishment. I actually felt bad.

Got the story today. Had him on camera middle of the night. He took off the next day to hunt. Sat all morning and gave up. Walked to his house and was letting his dogs out when he popped up on camera. He then proceeded to walk back and shoot him.

Neighbor killed the buck I’ve been after. Saw it on his camera yesterday morning and whacked it this one. I’m pretty disheartened. I wish they would outlaw cameras and corn. At least they have a chance of getting away at my dog camp. Cameras may get me to quit tree stand hunting.

About to go get in a leaner here behind the house. It warmed up. It’s 42 and only blowing 15mph per my weather app.
