We're going to have to think outside the box. I nominate John Daly. Loves the Hogs, is overweight, drinks beer, and has as much head coaching experience as Pittman did. Plus he's famous and would be a great recruiter. Just let him go get assistants to do the real coaching while he tours with the Hooters girls visiting recruits.

I'm really hoping they were just trying to keep him hidden until conference play..... seems like the kid of dumb crap we would do.

I'd wager everything I own it's not an Enos thing. It's a Pittman doesn't think he's blocking well enough downfield thing. He's been that way with every receiver we have. Doesn't matter how talented you are, shitty blocking will keep you off the field.

We’re in the sec and it’s Utah. They were a mountain west team 20 years ago. Just out bid them. You wanna know why Nebraska and Tennessee always have the chance to come back? Because they want to. Yeah they might overpay sometime or go crazy and fire someone when maybe he should get another year but when you have a rabid fan base eventually you’ll hit. We need more of that

Yeah and now they're in the Big 12 and will be a top team for years to come. No reason for him to downgrade to Arkansas.

He's been at Utah for 20 years and he's a Mormon. It's not realistic man.

Need to look for the CURRENT YEAR, 2004 version of Petrino. Offensive genius whose schemes will work for 10 years or so before it gets figured out. A CEO-style coach is not going to make it happen here. The demographics of the state are not friendly for recruiting top talent, so needs to be a guru.

Call Dan Lanning

Give Dan Lanning 50 mil 5 yr deal

Give Dan Lanning freedom to fly to Missouri to see his parents whenever he wants.

Watch Dan Lanning drag nuts over SEC West

You know there’s a less than zero percent chance that Dan Lanning would leave Oregon for Arkansas right?

I don't understand it either. Hell, having a burner on the field causes defenses to prep for it at least. I like the rest of the crew too but he's too fast to not get more looks.

Been saying that since last year, but he has a $20M buyout right now. I doubt we pony up that money.

Mike Elko would be another option, but he is an east coast man, except his time at A&M.

GJ Kinne I like but he hasn’t done much for long, only 33 or 34. But Lanning is only 37.

Tom Herman is someone to look at, though FAU’s having a meh season.

He did much better at Texas than people realize. He won 10 games in year 2, went 8-5 in year 3, then 7-3 in the crazy COVID year (which shouldn’t have counted against anyone). He’s 4-0 in bowl games and finished 3 of his 4 seasons ranked, once in the top 10.

Fun fact, he’s also the last coach to have beaten Georgia in the postseason (Sugar Bowl after the 2018 season).

He’d also have a hate boner for Texas. It’d be nice to be on the other side of that dynamic for a change, instead of always being the one some opposing coach has a grudge against (Petrino, Drink, Gus, Tuberville, Jimmy Johnson, Nutt at Ole Miss, et al).

I doubt we ever pay that to buy a coach out.
