Yes as did Wes Johnson and he obviously took that offer then came back to college 3 years later. Probably a better route than taking a low pay mid tier job when you're a top assistant making more money at a major school.
Tankathon updated 2027 NBA Mock Draft:

#19 Miikka Muurinen
#21 JJ Andrews

Assistants rarely leave in baseball, it's not like football or hoops. Very, very few.

Kevin Schnall stayed at Coastal for 20 years even after winning a natty to get the head job when HC retired and then bolted to USCe after 2 years.

Far more likely that Nate or Matt think they can get the HC job here with DVH nearing the end. After the dropped popup shoulda been natty season when Nate was rated the top assistant in college he had HC offers to middle tier schools and didn't even entertain them. No one has called for Hobbs and it largely comes down to money we offer our assistants a higher salary than just about any non major program offers their HC.
Apple isn't in the AI race, they lost that a long time ago. Well never really entered the race is more like it.

Hence the OpenAI deal and now Gemini replacing Siri. They botched AI about as poorly as possible.

Judah Ota, our next great Hawaiian, announces he's heading to campus. 6'5 OFer #77 overall recruit. Beast of a swing. :nana:

All 4 of our top 100 recruits will make it to campus.
quote:

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The clock for a potential reclassification decision for current 2027 Arkansas Razorbacks commit Davion Thompson is nearing with the Nike EYBL circuit in Las Vegas this weekend.

During events in Atlanta and Memphis, Thompson was drilling over 50% of his three-point attempts, which became the expectation for him. But, he eventually put his struggles to rest on Saturday when he drilled four from beyond the arc while recording 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

With Thompson's decision looming it could blow the door wide open for Black, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 class, to take his talents to Arkansas like his brother Anthony did four years ago.

Should Thompson ultimately decide to join the Razorbacks, the move would allow Thompson to arrive in Fayetteville a full year early and join what is already considered the nation's top recruiting class.

From the sound of it we were prepared this time at SS, Manny Marin the Tenner SS was likely going to start even over Cleary or at least a close competition so it makes sense we took 2 starting caliber SS's in the portal now. He's a decent hitter .291 BA last season but a gold glove caliber defender and I think DVH wanted defense up the middle. If he can hit .270+ with his D we are solid up the middle with Souza back.

Pompey not getting drafted at all was a surprise, he was signing even if he went 20th round and the staff did not expect him back, now he's returning so losing our transfer 3B isn't as big of a hit. Still think TJ could be a have breakout strong year too.

150K is max bonus without effecting bonus pool. We lost two last year in 13th and 15th rounds. Both of those guys sound likely to sign.
