What stands out to me is that it feels like we finally have reliable 3 point shooting. That’s held us back for several years. Still early obviously but it does feel different.

Standing straight with your hands up in the air = foul

Of course there’s going to be a huge number of major program openings this year. Watch us go winless and still hire Bobby because everyone else on our list goes elsewhere.

If he's making these types of moves, he is definitely their new permanent coach
I know the board wants this to happen because it’d be admittedly hilarious but that’s not the case. This was the worst defense I’ve ever seen at Arkansas and no one has an issue with firing them and was going to happen even if Sam had stayed.
There’s also more trust in Petrino to make these kinds of decisions than a normal interim but it doesn’t mean he’s getting the permanent spot.

Was a good season until this. Awful

Such bullshite. Note to future players: don’t win too many HOHs or everyone will be mad at you and vote for the floater pretending it was all a part of their master plan

Easy to have a good social game when you never win a single HOH and don’t have to put anyone up.

Rachel is going to have a lot of sway in the voting and she’s been saying that even if you don’t like how Vince played/got backstabbed by him he still played a good game
He’s 100% winning

While I’m grateful he took the job knowing Hunter is about 10 years behind on his thoughts on NIL/contracts, as soon as he tasted HC money and wanted to “play the game” with Sexton/getting as much money as possible, he stopped being a lovable uncle/grandpa coming in to save the program at a time of need and just another coach.
Ideally he would have stepped down after 2023/24 when it was clear he couldn’t take the program any further and would have left it in a far spot than when he got it. But now he’s been forced to leave after putting out one of the worst defenses I’ve ever seen at Arkansas and there’s a good chance we go 2-10/3-9 and undo a lot of the good he did for the program.

Wouldn’t be mad at completely cleaning house but at a certain point an offense is going to let go of the rope when the defense is this bad

Agreed. We could probably pay Petrino lower than the going rate for a coach too since it’s pretty clear he likes the state/NWA and wants to coach here.
Recruiting being more about money now suits him and I think our fans would be more excited about him than any other coach we could realistically hire and will start donating more.
But I’m sure some around the program won’t want him because he’s a meanie and demands people do their job well.

Not demanding discipline is probably the worst one. Last week we downed a punt at the 1, called back for illegal formation. The illegal substitution coming out of a fricking timeout.
I could go on with other examples but no shite we can’t win close games. We’re flubbing the things that are completely in our control.
NIL doesn’t affect whether we can line up correctly or get substitutions in on time. We don’t need a defense full of five stars to communicate effectively and not have constant busts in coverage.
I hate how we never seem to have an edge to the way we play. When the other team turns it on in the second half we back down and don’t punch back. You can tell the players are expecting something bad to happen.

I miss living and dying on each play.
I’m almost 29 and the first football game I remember being really emotionally invested in was LSU 2007. I got hooked and started watching every play/following recruiting.
2012 and 2013 sucked but I could explain it to myself as an interim coach and Bert implementing a new offense/wanting a different type of player.
Since 2017 I’ve just been beaten down and barely care. I hardly watched last year after Oklahoma State and am at the same point after Memphis.

We’ll pull out one or two wtf wins. No more than 4 wins this year.
