How do people in Disney’s film division keep their jobs? They’re lighting money on fire.

As someone who likes to frequent the parks and hotels, it’s maddening to me that they’re absolutely fine with the studio flushing hundreds of millions down the toilet on bad projects no one asked for while at the same time they budget cut the parks.

It’s crazy to me that they were fine giving a complete nobody $180 million to do The Acolyte but yet neglected the parks for years until the recent D23 announcements, and they’ve pushed out some hotel refurbishments.
Basketball - lost their last 4 against Arkansas, including 2 of the last 3 years in the NCAA Tourney

Football - lost to Arkansas in the 2022 Liberty Bowl

Baseball - haven’t beaten Arkansas since 2009

People are wondering.
Incredibly huge series win against a really good Ole Miss team on the road.

Proud of our offense for battling back in both wins after starting out behind the 8 ball and having to gut through a terrible first inning.

We scored 12 runs in both game 2 and game 3. For reference, we only scored 10 runs in a conference game once (!) last season.

Snow white isn't disney IP. It predates Disney by quite a bit

I’m well aware Snow White is a Grimm fairy tale (as are many of Disney’s works).

I’m talking about the Disney movie and how it’s beyond me as to how Disney greenlit a live action remake given its foundational importance to the company.
Snow White should be an untouchable character/movie in the Disney IP catalogue.

The original movie literally made the Disney Company. If that movie had flopped Disney is bankrupt and done, there’s no ensuing IP, no theme parks, feature animation is probably never mainstreamed, and Mickey Mouse is basically just a forgotten cartoon from the 1920s.

I just read a pretty fascinating book about Walt, and people don’t understand the risks he took with that film. He went deep into debt and was selling off his personal belongings to help finance it. Walt wasn’t the type to rest on his laurels or look back, but Snow White was pretty sacred to him.

It’s unreal how this remake ever got greenlit in the first place, let alone allowed to get to this point. Disney should have treated this with care, sensitivity, and extremely high standards. Instead, they just randomly cast whomever and allowed them to spew whatever bullshite they wanted and the original movie and telling a modern story.

It would be like the Yankees unretiring Babe Ruth’s number 3 and issuing it to a new player who then proceeded to talk shite about Ruth and the Yankees of 1920s and 1930s.

Unforgiven needs to be on there.

Starters ERA: Root (2.11), Beidelschies (2.37), Gaeckle (6.16)

Not hitting the panic button because it’s a long season, but Gaeckle’s last 2 outings have been concerning.

He got absolutely shelled versus Charlotte, and looked uncomfortable against Portland as well.

And he gets a hit with the game on the line

In the words of the great John Sterling – “that’s baseball, Suzyn.”
After going 0 for 4 yesterday, Souza is now batting .045 on the season.

He hasn’t had a hit since opening day against Wazzu.

I think Diggs will be fine, he's a good player. Really good AB there in the 9th. Souza hasn't ever done anything and is running out of chances however.

Souza has 8 K’s in just 11 AB’s year. He needs to sit for good, or at least until he gets his head straight and develops a better approach.

He has zero plate discipline, and swings over the top of everything. He was a strikeout machine last year too, and his BB/K ratio was extremely lopsided.

Mahomes keeps throwing the ball low.

One of the worst first half performances in a Super Bowl ever.

The Ravens can’t stop turning the ball over

Dumb play call on the 2pt.

You have one of the best short yardage backs in the history of football (who just mauled everyone on the previous drive) and you motion him out and pass?

Sure…

I’ve clowned on Brady this season but he basically called that a TD at the Lions own 35 because he saw the lanes

Another snoozer game

I love the NFL (even more than college now) but these playoff games have been arse so far.

However, that means we’re probably in for a treat with the Divisional Round.

Tony Romo 2.0

Too good of a QB to move on from, but will never win anything of substance.
