Let's hear em.

Willie Fritz?

Jeff Traylor? (just had huge loss)

Mike Elko?

Lance Leipold?

Kendall Briles?

Really doesn't seem like there are that many guys out there this cycle.

Won't matter. Pittman isn't getting fired this season.

I’ll take Briles back. We need an offensive-minded head coach.

Fritz is too old.
Leipold is one of the best coaches in football but he’s in his 60s as well.
Elko is a damn good coach. He’s one to jump on before he winds up in College Station.

Absolutely no to Lunney or Gus.

No. Will leave when he gets offered the Texas/A&M dream jobs.

I like this.

I don’t think he will be great, need to see him do it back to back years.

Kendall Briles?

The fan base will disintegrate.

Lord help us if this is where we are.

I'd rather hang on to Pittman and see if he can't be one of those slow burn coaches than try that game of russian roulette.

After next year at the earliest. Unless we skid hard and the next home game which is over a month away is a damn near empty stadium.

Dan Lanning would be cool, it won’t happen with that $20M buyout.

The real question is this — are there any coaches from programs on the outside looking in of conference realignment who might take our job to get into the Big 2?

Might be a few Big 12 or ACC coaches getting antsy about what’s looming on the horizon.

He needs to go after this year before it gets worse.

Just shut the program down if it’s Lunney.

I know people who know him and he got really pissy when he didn’t get the job full time here. He interviewed and was sure he had it, and then found out from a friend it was Pittman.

He was offered a chance to stay but opted to leave and join Traylor at UTSA.

Just burn down the Bert coaching tree and salt its ashes. Those years sucked, so why would we keep hiring his coaches?

No matter what, it's clear that the Briles/Baylor offense works very well in the SEC and produces quite a fine running game, even with less than stellar offensive line talent (our best Olinemen are still Chad Recruits).

I don't know how well he could recruit, though.

Need an elite portal guy.

Elko is the obvious choice

Thankfully the Deion train will derail tonight. He’s ruined that poor Hunter kids career making him play 120 snaps a game since he’s had him. Hopefully the kid is ok. He had a bright future had he played for anybody other than Deion

I’d try to get whittingham from Utah or klieman from Kansas state. Both guys that know how to win without 5 star talent.

We need someone who is young and innovative that knows how to use free agency.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but when I see current head coaches in the Big 12 or ACC mentioned as possibilities--I'm truly puzzled. I don't like dwelling on so many negatives, but I think many of you are unrealistic right now about our place in college football.

Why would a head coach in either of those conferences want to come to one of the worst programs in the meat grinder that is the SEC? This isn't being negative, but that's what we have been for the most part since Petrino got fired. We may be the worst just above Vandy. Say what you will about Mizzou, but they have beaten us way more than we've beaten them and they just knocked off a ranked team yesterday.

What would be the incentive for them to make that move other than money and conference status? They have it easier where they are. Our big-money donors either can't or aren't willing to spend the money to get the best players in here.

Seems to me that our best, most realistic options would either be a HC from a really good mid-major i.e. Chadwell or a great coordinator/assistant from a successful program who's also a great recruiter.
