Good defense, meh offense

Should be a good match up in our favor on the defensive side of the ball. They play like LSU on offense, can't really run the ball but have the ability to throw it.

Probably going to be a grind it out type of game.

Will be good to see a non-dinged up KJ and Treylon together at least one more time.

I wanted revenge on the Badgers for letting Long hire Bert, and for the way their fans acted in 2006. Jackasses!

A much more interesting matchup that Wisconsin would have been. Glad we got them. Pretty sure its the first time we have ever played.

Despite our abysmal bowl record I think this matchup bodes well for us.

Sucks he opted out but it's good for the young wideouts to get reps in bowl practice, and it will look good when he is drafted high. Burks is a great hog, and our most talented player since Darren Mcfadden.

It's a decent bowl but 100% don't blame him. Dude has been busting it this season playing hurt etc.

Doesn't matter at all if we win or lose. Literally on one cares or remembers, including recruits who wins/loses these random bowls.

Hopefully we still come out and punch them in the mouth but as others have said, our absymal bowl record says otherwise.

I just can't believe a certain part of our fan base convinced themselves there was a good chance at him coming back

I get being hopefully but still

Yeah, if our goals are higher than the Outback Bowl then this is an overall positive.

LOLZ. You know you aren't surprised.

Hell, I think Hazelwood is literally the first actual highly rated transfer we've EVER landed after the year of speculation due to coaching changes etc.

Maybe Franks was the other and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few but considering all the time we spend with supposition, its hilarious how little it ever actually happens.

I mean I'm not but I'm still surprised people do that to themselves and it will always confuse me

Probably would have been my favorite hog ever had he played in the bowl game. Not that he should care about that.

I just can't bring myself to accept the new attitude of opting out. Not that long ago you played for the team every game you could while you had the chance, doing otherwise was seen as abandoning your team.

That said, I get the decision and hope he makes a killing the NFL. Best WR to ever play for the hogs and it's not even remotely close.

ETA: If the rumor about him opting out to have time to recover from surgery are true then I take what I said back. It's just the opting out in fear of a potential injury that bothers me

Don't blame him. No sense in risking injury when you will be a 1st rounder with a very lucrative contract. He's a freaking stud and wish him the best. Proud to say he's a Hog.
