Probably losing another pitcher for the season frustrates me just as much as losing the series. Always a chance we can get hot in the postseason regardless of the seed but can’t just replace pitching talent.

It’s kinda crazy how we’ve taken Friday starters from other teams as our Sunday starters the last two years yet still our starting pitching seems to never quite get over the hump

I really hope we don’t try to play Wagner off the ball again like early last year. He’s at his best facilitating and driving. But not sure you leave Acuff on the bench either.

After we went back to the McFadden-era uniforms it looked even weirder seeing Rocket Sanders in #5. I think at the very least we should have an unofficial rule against RBs wearing it unless you’re just a generational talent.

We cared plenty about baseball even back around 2006-2011 when we were winning the SEC West and 10-11 games in football too. So that’s not a great excuse.

I remember thinking Reese Robinette would be a future stud after he hit the game winning homer against LSU a few years back as a freshman. Sometimes guys mash early before teams get tape on them and once pitchers figure out their weaknesses they become useless.

The problem I see with this is you never know if you got the next Johnell Davis, Jonas Aidoo and AJ Storr. On paper last offseason you’d be set with that trio and think you could just fill the bench with warm bodies since you have a phenomenal transfer class.
I’d rather take as many lottery tickets as possible since you gave a greater likelihood more will hit than assuming you have your starting group when they haven’t even played yet. Alabama football has a ton of 5* busts but they take so many it doesn’t make a difference. Only caveat is superstars might not want to come if it’s already that crowded.

Surprised he called BWA small. Even if it's showing some age it's still one of the larger in CBB.

Wagner was the #1 overall player in the class at one point and had a perfect 1.000 score. I guess it’s telling that he dropped from that as his HS career progressed though. Still ended up in the top 10.

Wagner was in the same boat so let’s just hope they live up to their ranking in college. It’s a crapshoot sometimes.

None of those guys are rated as high as Acuff or Thomas to be fair. Boogie was pretty highly rated but not a top 10 level HS player like Cal normally gets.
