And I think this is a shite take with little to nothing to back it up

Don’t go read the homework then or you’ll be disappointed. We’ve discussed ad nauseam his zero AAC titles or title game appearances (despite being at arguably the 2nd best AAC program), and barely above .500 in conference games, behind both Fuentes and Norvell, each of which flamed out at better football programs than ours.

But here’s to hoping I’m wrong. And FTR, I think he’s better than Fuentes.
I’ll say this:

I don’t think Silverfield can coach for shite.

BUT I’m very impressed with what he’s done so far with NIL and raising money for the program (somehow he convinces ppl to believe in him).

If he can get some high level players from the portal with the NIL funds he might end up an average SEC coach, which would be impressive considering.

I mean yeah there's no choice but to be here, but overall I just don't see the point in making a move like this if the hope for him is to be another Pittman. That's partially why I was so in favor of just sticking with Petrino. If you can't make the hire that will actually elevate us beyond what we already had, then why bother committing to someone? For all the ire Pittman got last year, he won 14 SEC games in 5 years. Not a shining achievement in most places, but it's the best tenure since Petrino. This just feels like change for the sake of change to try to garner ticket sales. From the tone of the posts from people who are willing to be supportive of Silverfield, even they would be pleased with simply mirroring Pittman's results. My question is why make a move at all of you're just going to hire a guy to do what the previous guy was already doing? Does anyone actually think Silverfield has a 9-4 SEC season in him?

Perfectly said. Couldn’t agree more. Should’ve just kept Petrino, which could’ve been done for a lot cheaper, then gotten a much better coach at the end of the 26 season.

Last year Auburn, Floridia, OM and Kentucky were all looking for head coaches and I’m sure I’m missing other schools from the P4. At best, our best option was the 4th best coach on the board. We probably ended up with one less than that. All that just to get Pittman results seems foolish.

I think he had to make his move because Memphis fans were getting a little frustrated

Doesn’t this frustrate you? Why would I get excited about a coach that Memphis really wanted to fire, but couldn’t bc he did just enough to get by. How could anyone be excited for that? How can the players get excited?

I just don’t get it. Just another lazy hire by HY. Though it may have been his only choice

That irritated Kingsbury and they beat Arkansas the next year.

For the record, Bret came back and throttled them the next year in Lubbock.

RIP Alex Collins
Lol exactly. Definitely Petrino’s fault
Parole Tide!!

But he was actually trying to pay $100 bucks for a BJ not really trafficking

He lost to Silverfied.

He didn’t fumble the ball with the lead.

But just think about that….our current coach lost to Petrino in almost every meaningful stat except turnovers, which is what cost Petrino the game.

Yikes.
Oof. Trinidad Chambliss’ college football career lasted longer than his first marriage.

Bro couldn’t keep his marriage together but is supposed to lead a team? Yikes.
Lol.

Hope he didn’t unpack his bags. Norvell and Fuente both did better at Memphis. Enough said.
I’m impressed any of yall are even paying attention. I haven’t cared this little about Hog football since Chad’s hire, but even then his 4 star recruiting kept me interested.

I have zero interest in watching Memphis play in Arkansas uniforms. And that’s what it feels like

Yes is bullshite the sec has made uga our unofficial permanent east opponent.

This was smart by the league office. We are a guaranteed conference win so it helps get an SEC team into the playoffs
With DeQueen’s demographics they better win it every year.

How many Caucasian kids were on the team?

Does Arkansas even have any football fans left

Not a lot. I’ll be back once they hire a decent coach. Gonna cheer for OU this season

Arkansas is going to run through that regional

Idk. Kansas ain’t bad and Miz St has already beaten us this season. Plus they just always seem to have our number

Yeah. Let’s use 1 game (that they would’ve/should’ve lost if not for a random fumble) as the measuring stick against a tenured and historically successful SEC coach to go pound for pound against Silverslick

One of the appealing things to me about Catholicism is also a potential weakness. We need a global power structure of faith to unite believers together and give us a global voice... But if that institution were to become compromised.......

My brother in Christ, the catholic church is about as far away from Jesus as the Muslims are.
