Coaching matters and you cannot get the players without the good recruiters.

we clearly dodged a bullet on all that Arkansas should go to the Big 12 talk.

If all you care about is the university making money, then yeah. If you care about winning then no, adding two more losses to our schedule every year is not dodging a bullet. 6-6 will be our ceiling, when our ceiling in the Big 12 would be conference champs.

Then we would be in the same situation as TCU, TTech, Baylor, Kansas, etc. right now. No thanks. We are home in the SEC.

Yeah but we live in the basement. Could have lived in the penthouse in the Big 12!

Newsflash…the Big 12 is dead. Us joining wouldn’t have stopped Texas and OU from doing this and us joining wouldn’t have made it a viable P5 conference without them.

We lived in the basement because that was the path the program took.

No one does but Arkansas joining the Big 12 wouldn't be enough to save it. With our luck, we would join but Texas and Oklahoma leaves. Then we are SOL.

Dude you need to accept the fact that your Ark to the B12 push was dumb. Penthouse of the B12? We will likely be in a pod with UT/OK/MU. That IS the penthouse of the B12 and we got there by staying in the SEC and taking home a ton more money for our other athletic programs.

In the grand scheme of things we won and we won big. We would have ended up in the freaking AAC probably.

Just stop.

Yes you can lol

Recruiting ranges are determined more by school than coach

I was all for leaving the SEC for the Big12, but you are correct.

If we had left, this still would have happened and we would be out in the cold. The reason I wanted to go to the Big12 is that its a better fit for us regionally and culturally and the schedule would be GREATLY easier than in the SEC. Money would be less, but who cares. Ill trade the money for wins, because Im not getting the money.

This COULD*** work out for us if we go to a pod system and get TX/OK/MIZ...but only IF we can be successful against them early and establish ourselves as a player in the *NEW* SEC. Because inevitably, this move will make Texas and OU recruiting monsters and in a couple of years they will pass us for consistently getting better athletes. We have to make hay early.

The other possibility is that they put us in a pod with LSU/OM/MSU. If that happens I will be very erect.

I haven’t voiced my thoughts here yet but I have two takes and they are polar opposites. These are football related as I believe other sports will not be impacted as much.

1) This is a bad move for Arkansas as it potentially makes our schedule/odds to make bowl games more difficult because we are playing more good teams and we’ve sucked since 2012. Now we are still losing more games. OU/Texas will become stronger because kids want to play in the SEC. Further burying Arkansas in the SEC pecking order to a permanent basement dweller.

2) This actually works out well and those TCU/Baylor/Tech kids come to Arkansas now and we get a huge boost and start competing again.

I am torn on if I really like them coming to the conference because it just gives me so much unknown of how this will impact our football program.

Yeah the key is actually getting those players and not losing them to an Ole Miss or Missouri. You'd think proximity would give us the driver's seat for those kids but it hasn't stopped OM from recruiting better than us in Texas recently.

If TCU/Baylor/Tech all end up in the PAC-12 instead of a mid-major conference those kids may just decide to keep going there too, who knows.

So OU and Texas coming to the SEC just adds two more losses, but moving to the Big 12 with Texas and OU waiting there would have made us champs.

Ok.

The biggest reason why I want Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC is to push the Bama schools to an eastern division. Bama will always dominate the SEC as long as Saban is there in Tuscaloosa and Auburn cheats on the field.

Texas hasn't won the B12 in football since 2009 and they're an auto loss? They lost to fricking Kansas last year GTFO. And I'll take our hoops and baseball programs over both them and OU's also.

Nah, we’ll be even more irrelevant now than we already are. We’re adding two superior programs when we’re already in the cellar.

We would have been #3 in the Big 12, now we’ll be around #13 or 14 in the new SEC. That’s not a big win.
