So my 8 year old Huskie Australian Shepherd mix started peeing in the house a few weeks ago after I had a friend watch him for a weekend while I was out of town. Not sure if him getting into cat food would have something to do with it. But I put a stop to it about 2 weeks ago and now today I left the house for maybe and hour and he pissed all over ny TV stand. Its trashed and ill probably toss it now. I mean this in the most serious way. Make 100% sure this is a UTI. What you’re describing was the first symptom my dog had which was eventually bladder cancer. Vets were stumped for 6 months because they weren’t looking for cancer because my dog was also only 8.

We were in & out of the vet for months trying to figure out what was wrong in the early stages. Every time they kept saying UTI. A lot of these cancers appear like a UTI or kidney infection on the outside and it’s really much worse than it appears.
