We have a lot better chance of beating Texas and Oklahoma as I can see Arkansas getting fired up and pulling off upsets. We won't be dominated like what Bama is doing to us.

We’ve never beaten A&M since they joined the SEC, that’s 9 straight losses. But now we’re gonna start beating Texas and OU?

How many of those games did Bert blow a huge lead in? Even Morris almost beat them. Texas has been way worse than A&M the last few years and Oklahoma isn't as good as they seem. If it gets Bama off our yearly schedule it's trading a sure loss for an unlikely win and a 50/50 game. I'll take that.

Poor coaching lost those games as you can see the collapses in the second half. Do you think if Bobby was the coach, they would have lost nine games in a row? I seriously doubt it even with our worst 10 year stretch since the 1950s, we were still competitive.

We have a winning record against Texas since leaving the SWC and no way in hell OU would dominate us like what Alabama is doing now.

Beaten Mizzou once as well.

Pittman of course managed to lose to them as well.

Will be more of the same which is why I don’t really care.

It's either add Western teams or Eastern teams. Western teams will eventually help due to proximity. With the way sustainability is increasing, as big oil is decreasing, this should be a no brainer.

Texas wants the PAC16, Oklahoma/Oklahoma State want the SEC. They're just trying to blame their breakup on the SEC.

This is fricking hilarious. Every time I bring up moving to the Big 12, people talk about how they want to play against the best. Now y’all are hoping this gets Bama off our schedule. What a joke.

If only getting Bama off our schedule equaled moving to the big 12

It is hard to show improvement when you get the case of the red arse against Bama yearly. As long as Saban is in Tuscaloosa then that is an automatic L.

Arkansas needs a break for a change.

Adding the two best teams in the Big 12 to our division is not a break. That is the worst possible scenario here.

And thank god nobody was stupid enough to listen to you. This EXACT thing would have happened if we did so and everyone in the nation would be laughing their asses off at us. We would be sitting in the Big whatever the hell it would be with the other 2nd rate Texas teams and OK State looking like dumbasses.

Instead we are going to be a member of the first super conference, most likely not having to play bama, getting back our one true rivalry and another potential regional one. Good job calling yourself out for having that stupid opinion.

No it isn't. Both are not as well coached or talented as Bama. Oklahoma got destroyed by Bama and LSU in the playoffs the last time they met. They benefited from an easy schedule. They are good but not as good as you think they are.

So would we. Now our already hardest schedule in the country would be harder.

Below is number of 3*/4*/5* football prospects in a state, using 247Composite rankings.

2021 classes

Alabama 95/10/1

Arkansas 18/1

Florida 254/47/9

Georgia 190/25/4

Kentucky 20/3

Louisiana 55/9/2

Mississippi 38/6

Missouri 28/4

Oklahoma 25/5

South Carolina 37/2

Tennessee 50/9

Texas 313/45/5

2022 classes

Alabama 43/12/1

Arkansas 19/4

Florida 175/39/5

Georgia 85/30/3

Kentucky 14/4

Louisiana 40/13/3

Mississippi 26/8

Missouri 26/8/1

Oklahoma 18/5/1

South Carolina 24/5/1

Tennessee 39/10/2

Texas 151/42/9

Our state produces basketball players in the top 50-100 yearly as well as a handful of baseball players a year in the top 100-250 but don't have a large quantity of quality football players in a sports that takes so many more roster spots to fill out a team.

This is why when someone questions how many 3*'s we take in football.

Also it doesn't matter how you recruit when some/most of your higher recruits don't/can't produce on the field and we seem to miss on a bunch of our higher recruits.

From Chad's stellar 11 4-star class in 2019.

Burks, Catalon, Brooks are the players.

Henry, Jefferson, Soli look to play more this year.

Knox and Bush who knows.

Clay, Jackson and Nash are all gone.

Buzz in recent years has tried to push A&M into Arkansas in basketball as Jimbo has in football (Morris, Norwood, Sategna until Oregon) and now Beard at Texas/Moser at Oklahoma are doing the same with the LR area prospects Ware/Smith/Blocker/Warren.

As some have said diminishing the Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech Ok State group should, should benefit Arkansas as well as potentially more regional home/road games and true rivals.

Pretty much every game on the schedule has been an auto L for a decade.

I don't think some of ya'll realize how utterly pathetic and bad we've been.

Can't even beat Mizzou, getting Bama and LSU off the schedule every single year is 100% a win.

Not sure how anyone can say otherwise.

To put this more into perspective here is our record the last 10 years against SEC W opponents

A&M: 1-9

Bama: 0-10

Ole Miss: 6-4

Miss St: 3-7

Auburn: 3-7 (counting last years W as a loss)

LSU: 2-8

You were obviously being a little hyperbolic but yeah its been pretty bad

A&M, Miss St are really the only ones that are inexcusable imo.

Bama is Bama

Should have a better record against LSU but its not like they are a bad program

If you flip last years game with Auburn we are 4-6 vs them so I don't think that is really that bad

and finally thank god for Mississippi

Also, this look alot worse when you take out the Petrino years

Just watch as the SEC will expose Oklahoma. They will be hard pressed to win any division in the new SEC. Even if Alabama was taken out of the equation, they still wouldn't dominate the SEC. The talent level compared to the SEC is wide. Top to bottom the Big 12 is inferior

We can't keep trying to avoid the big boys and doing so shows an inferiority complex. It is better to face them and beat them in the regular season than get that arse kicked in the post season against teams which we never faced.
