Apparently his name has been thrown around by a few Oklahoma fans for their next HC. I'm sure the school may at least place a call if their top choices don't come through.

Rumor is they want Kliff Kingsbury (good fricking luck with that), then who knows.

In all honesty, Pitt would absolutely kill it at OU, especially as they transition into the SEC.

I know he's basically given away all of his leverage by his public comments on retiring at Arkansas, but I'd still expect Arkansas to have to up his deal, no?

I feel like we don't necessarily have to pay him more. Probably just tell him if he's having thought about leaving come and tell me what i can do to make you stay.

Holy shite man stop this nonsense every time a job opens.

This idea we are losing our HC or OC or DC after every opening is insanity.

His contract has increased $750K for being bowl eligible and getting up to 8 wins. Incentive based as coaching contracts should be.

Yeah he’s gonna be at almost 4 million this year and right or wrong in the public eye, gotta think he’s happy with that.

Hopefully this years success loosens up the cash strings on assistant pay and NIL.

Arkansas coach Sam Pittman adds another $250,000 to his automatic raise for his next contract year as Razorbacks beat Missouri for their 8th win of the season.
Pittman has maxed out with a $750,000 pay increase that will move his comp to $3.75 million.

Pittman also is set for a bonus of at least $100,000 for a bowl appearance, an amount that could increase to $150,000 depending on which game they play in

It feels like OU ran off Riley. You don’t do that to hire a Pittman. I think a lot of Pittman but he’s not a flashy hire like OU is going for.

Pittman May be from Oklahoma, but he has no ties to OU.

Pittman will be a hog for rest of his career.

I'm so confident in what you just said that I'll go on record as saying if I were stranded on an island with Whoopi Goldberg, I'd actually have sex with her vs. what I'd like to do....duck off behind some tree and jack off instead.

Coach Pittman will be here until he retires.

He isn't leaving for a Jack Crowe situation.

Agreed. I wouldn’t mind if we threw some more money at him tho just as a sign of appreciation and acknowledgement of how he picked us up out of a giant seemingly never ending hole.

I'm of the opinion that they need to sweeten Pittman's deal. I understand the contract as it stands, but if you have someone doing a great job for you, you are wise to get out in front of keeping them happy and making them feel appreciated. Helps to keep everyone motivated.

Hunter has apparently struct gold multiple times already, and I believe he is smart enough to know this.

By all means, keep Pittman happy.

However, one way they can make and keep him happy is to give him (or keep giving him) whatever it takes in terms of money for the assistant pool.

Pittman knows what he’s worth, but he also knows — and has been outspoken about — how important the staff is, and how important it is to build and/or maintain a good one.

We have a person who is being paid over a million dollars himself just to worry about this. Just so we don't have to

I agree, I may be wrong but I think Sam would give up some of his money to keep his staff in good shape.

There's a reason coaches want to work for him.

The coaching carousel this year is going to drive salaries across the profession up to levels that won’t be sustainable for many schools.

This is the beginning of the end of the NCAA as we we’ve known it.
