Mostly military equipment and missile defenses as a deterrent against Iran.
This is how you still keep the MIC happy, while not going to war like all the Rinos and NeoCons want.

If you're a small nation like UAE, Qatar, or even Saudi, with not much defense capabitilities, there is nothing better for you than having a giant US military base on your soil.
re: Which 2012 movie is better: The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises

Yet nobody really replays the 2012 Avengers film because it was eaten by the later films and superior storyline.
Yet DKR is still in all the time and is somehow very captivating, even though it's a very flawed film.

Mike Johnson is from fricking Benton, right???
That's about as far away from New Orleans as you can get.
Unkess of course you believe in those darned tin foil hat "theories" that these people are identified at young ages and put through a brainwashing circuit of sorts.
I bet they were all part of some "student govmt" camp or state convention growing up.

I've seen this type in corporate America, and more specifically, corporate marketing, a million times.
I gurantee you her family is very rich and probably owns some equity firm or business that was handed down to them and that's how this chick has gotten and will keep getting jobs.
She probably also is one of the shittiest people in the world to work with and for.
Either that, or she is just a gigantic whore and slept with every executive shes ever worked for...

re: The 1987 Box Office is bonkers, never would have guessed the #1 film
Posted by Jack Ruby on 5/14/25 at 6:02 pm
1987 also had what is probably the most forgotten Ridley Scott film of his career.
The Rewatchables actually just did an episode on it. Wouldn't call it a great film by any measure, and it really fell into that late 80s Fatal Attraction fad, but Someone To Watch Over Me is a genre nobody even thinks about making anymore. The sexual thriller/romance/seductress/infedelity adult film is extinct. I think the internet really killed it.
By the mid-late 90s, it was gone like the wind.

He's being a statesman. He wants Syria to succeed and be in the good graces of the US as opposed to China or Russia taking over the region.
If you notice, Trump always pays compliments to people he's trying to make a deal with... Unless they are European globalist types that tried to ruin him. For them he does not forgive nor forget.

re: 15 year old illegal that killed woman given probation
Posted by Jack Ruby on 5/14/25 at 12:21 pm
Saw an illegal 18-20 yr old get probation after killing an 80+ yr old in a drunken car accident. He was charged with manslaughter, but the local DA, because he didn't want all the work that goes into a trial, offered a plea deal for prior time seved in County and probation.
This happens so often, it would make people's heads explode if they ever sat in court one random day in your local county.

. In a 1975 public hearing, Sen. Church showed the CIA's "heart attack gun" to the world.
The weapon itself resembled a Colt M1911 pistol with a scope, but it didn't fire .45-caliber bullets. Instead, it fired a frozen pellet of saxitoxin, a poisonous substance derived from shellfish that consumed toxic algae blooms. The pellet could be silently fired up to 100 meters away and would enter the body through a pinprick entry wound. The poison would then melt, and within minutes, the victim would be dead.

Yeah 87 was actually a great year for films, but the top box office draws are insane to look at when you compare them against the last 10-15 yrs.
The depth of the movie business then was crazy. You could legit say 30-40 good to decent movies came out in that time. Plus you had such diversity of genre. Action, romance, thriller, drama, comedy, all had big runs. It was still a business run by adults.
Now, you may get one decent film a year and that's a stretch.

Just in time for them to promote as they are about to lose UFC rights, which was the only thing holding up their entire ESPN+ ecosystem.
I'm sure this announcement is just a coincidence...

Syria is an ancient land that deserves rebuilding. Damascus used to be one of the great shining symbols of the Middle East.
This is a very good thing. Make Syria Great Again.
The zionists won't like this one bit though. They want to rule over the entire region.
