Slow and steady. I’ve no complaints.

We are going to need to get over the hump and win at least half of these one score games.
Wonder what Learfield’s cut of that is?

We plan both. It ain’t either or.
Holtz went to Minnesota (from Arkansas) before Notre Dame.
Well..,,I’d say we’ve worked hard to shore up the defense and the OLine. That’s encouraging.

On another note…I just watched a couple minutes of Otis Kirk discussing recruits that was recorded yesterday. It’s just embarrassing. There’s no other word.

While UK fans would have a huge boner for this….it won’t happen.

Take solace though….nobody….and I do mean nobody….is coming after Polk or Poke or whoever that guy is that you hired to learn how to coach and recruit.
James Street from Texass in 69. If he’s a hog he doesn’t complete that Hail Mary and they probably call the obvious clip on whatever QB they start’s run. Arkansas wins the NC and goes on a roll becoming a dynasty.

And what else would you have them do oh wise one?

Throwing darts in a house of balloons must get old.

On a hopeful….or maybe wishful note.

One could look at our recruiting and think….hmmm….they are truly focused on building a team for years 2 and 3 vs simply trying to fix it all now.

Lots of decent 3 stars and low 4s who aren’t as likely to bolt to the portal after their spoiled butts touch the bench. Positional focus is clear, with more emphasis on defense and o line recruits who won’t really help until next year.

Given our schedule and the hole we start in….seems about all he can do,
Weren’t in the SEC at the time but Arkansas fired Lou Holtz.
1982. Arkansas SMU (Dickerson and James just before death penalty)

Decided by a call so bad that they changed the rules.

The Controversial Play: Late in the game, a controversial pass interference call against the Razorbacks gave SMU the ball deep in Arkansas territory, helping set up the game-tying score. This play was so heavily debated that it ultimately prompted the NCAA to change the pass interference penalty from a spot foul to a 15-yard penalty. 10:00 mark for the PI

5-7 is basically a miracle and 8-4 is just impossible.

I’m also not against or soured on Silverfield. What a great “self made coach” story and he undoubtedly knows football.

Thing is, it’s not what I think about him that matters. It’s what recruits think about him vs. any other coaches that may offer them that matters.
Arkansas:

1. Scottie Pippen
2. Brooks Robinson
3. Dan Hampton
4. Dizzy Dean
5. Sidney Moncrief

I still don’t see but 2 wins. I do hope I’m wrong.
I hope so!

He’s still 5’6’’ and has no chance to guard 95% of SEC guards.
