We are actually fortunate to have Petrino in place and wanting the job.

Kinda like having a nice drive in the fairway in a golf scramble. Let the big dog hunt and if we land a better coach all the better. If not, we are just fine for 2-3 years with a proven guy who wants badly to improve his legacy.
Let’s just say Bazzel as AD isn’t as crazy as hiring Chad Morris or John Pelphrey for the respective positions they were hired for.

Yeah…well…that’s because…well…we hate LSU.

I am happy to see that at least 3 or 4 of y’all still care enough about the program to display any passion at all about who they hire.

As for me…I’m hopeful whatever they stumble into works. Vaguely hopeful.

Most talented Razorback team ever. It’s not close.

Better shoot some free throws. There will come a day when they matter.

Lotsa teams firing coaches and then sweating bullets over how to hire a better one right now.
Likely to hire Petrino and throw money at GM and a DC.

That pony rides for 2-3 years after which some type of sanity regarding NIL/ Portal is in place or the college game is a shambles anyway.

Then..try to hire Petrino’s replacement.

In this environment, unless expectations become more realistic, no coach will do more than 5-6 years at a school.
Bet the farm on State. Arkansas can find a way.

I’m resigned to this:

It’s not the coach. It’s the entire program.
When not in a clutch situation….2nd behind Mallet.

In ANY clutch situation…I’d rather see Peanut Adams back there.

Spend the money to relocate the university off the burial ground it was clearly built over.
The real difference is that a 2 star in state guy is far more likely to stick with the program, work his butt off to improve and see the field and have the innate pride…perhaps developing into a Morgan (Drew or Grant) or maybe just being a higher quality scout team player, resulting in the team getting better.

A 2 star from out of state is way more likely to bag it to chase sorority girls or transfer to a school where he can play.

I’ll amend this logic…stars don’t matter…whether 2 or 4…all the above is true.

We can’t build a full roster with in state guys….but we could get them all, build that nucleus and spend our recruiting budget chasing 4-5 stars from states that border Arkansas and FL…and we’d be just fine.

Signed,

J. Frank Broyles
Classic. Hogs are running away with the lead for YPP and for the lead in most yards given up per play.

I suspect the delta is an all time record.

Obviously the season needs to play out, but at the moment I think that we likely have our HC. I think the kids are already playing harder, we just don't have the horses on defense. Getting a couple linemen back will help a great deal.

The pros and cons of Petrino have been beat to death elsewhere.

I just don't see us competing for any of the coaches that MIGHT be better than Petrino given the other openings.

What we SHOULD be doing is piling up a warchest for the best DC in college football to go alont with Petrino....and an outstanding GM....ideally a former successful coach...that'll be Petrino's call.

Personally...I suspect all that was already discussed when Sam hired Bobby.

You barners should ask Bo Nix to explain spiking the ball vs fumbling…or just shut up.
There is a scenario where Petrino manages to get through to these kids, the effort returns to what we say against Ole Miss and the defense at least learns to line up in the right places.

If that happens, we might actually be competitive in our games the rest of the year...and maybe competitive enough that most kids stick around to see what's gonna happen.

I know I know...kool aid with a firehose. I just REALLY don't want to hafta go buy a bunch of Florida State tee shirts.
Just hire Sumrall and fire Yurachek,

Spend the money on a GM and staff to evaluate players nationwide so we can hammer the portal, ala Ole Miss and their small army of analysts feeding their meddlers.

AD hire? I’m intrigued with Matt Larsen from NDSU.
