I started hearing the Golding to Ole Miss rumors 2 day ago. I think it's legit unless Saban has to keep him another year. What's more interesting to me is the Jeff Lebby rumors.

Golding to Ole Miss rumors
"For days there have been rumors of Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss trying to hire Alabama Football, Defensive Coordinator, Pete Golding. Bama Hammer had not commented on the unconfirmed rumors, waiting to find a credible source. At this point, it has become clear some conversations have taken place regarding such a move by Golding."

They just discussed the Golding to Ole Miss rumors on WJOX with Rodney Orr of TiderInsider, so there is enough smoke there that it has started catching the attention of the media. They weren't saying it was going to happen or anything, but Rodney did say he had heard that Kiffin has been interested in Golding for several weeks.

Lol, I figured everyone would understand it was an old article when I said "history repeat itself". I didn't do it as a troll. Were all so desperate for some news its driving us crazy......I think Saban is trying to pawn Golding off to Kiffin for a soft landing soft. Kiffin gets to look good by "stealing" Saban's DC and make changes.

This uncertainty and glimmer of hope are just too much to bear much longer. I've been waiting for Golding's exit for years now. I just wish so much for it to happen: the announcement that Pruitt is confirmed as our new DC and ILB coach...

Once we've got that one out of the way I will be more than happy to discuss who we think Saban will pull out of his hat as BoB's successor. Here are some options being mentioned: LINK

I just found out that Doug Nussmeier is the QB coach for the Dallas Cowboys. I had completely missed that one.

Is the meaning of the phrase history repeats itself that foreign to people?

Without context? Yes.

I assumed the article was talking about a new development and not a past one. Hence the “history repeating itself” was that Kiffin was once again trying to get Golding.

Kiffin will offer Golding and then Bama will counteroffer and make Golding the highest paid assistant in college football. And names him coach in waiting.

Do we honestly think he would leave his alma mater to come here. I mean OC at Bama > OC at OU right now but still

I'm not saying this is the case, but let's say that Lebby's ultimate goal is being the HC at his alma mater and he feels that Venables isn't going to make it long term as the HC there. Would he have a better chance at becoming a serious HC candidate by staying at OU until Venables is fired. Or would he have a better shot by becoming Saban's OC for 2 or 3 year, and then putting his name in the hat when OU eventually fires Venables?
